Don't revert Kogmaw, instead fit his "consume everything" lore as a JGler (Rework?)

If Kogmaw's lore is based on insatiable hunger by consuming all forms of life, wouldn't his thematic be better as a Jungler? As we've seen with the recent Bloodrazor/Wits end Kogmaw JG, that playstyle suited Kogmaw more than the lane Kogmaw from a lore perspective. Lane Kogmaw doesn't make sense and it should be taken into account if he's going to have his kit reverted.

"The enchanting colors and aromas of Runeterra intoxicated Kog'Maw, and he explored the fruits of the strange world the only way he knew how: by devouring them.

At first he sampled only the wild flora and fauna he happened across. As he traversed the parched Tempest Flats, however, he came upon a tribe of nomads.

Seemingly unhampered by conventional rules of physics,** Kog'Maw consumed every nomad and any obstacles they put in his way**, amounting to many times his own mass and volume."

This in my opinion, describes Kogmaw as a small, frail voidling that started out sampling on Jungle monsters and eventually went on to consume everything he can spew on. That kind of playstyle would be good if he is to be considered for another rework. This would also encourage diversity based on how players play certain characters, instead of removing core features on champions due to people using them in ways Riot doesn't like.

I understand he's overpowered as all hell right now plus due to cheap itemization, he's allowed to hit his power spikes hard, but an entire playstyle should not be removed due to his synergy with specific items. I would be pretty disappointed if the reverts completely kill JG Kogmaw.

Kog'Maws kit has absolutely zero to do with consuming anything.

Why on earth would be balance a champion based off trash can tier lore that has never EVER applied to his kit?

Because Riot have been working on their Lore and revolving champions kits around it as well. As we've seen with Yorick Rework and Taliyah, they've had somewhat extensive lore (Yoricks is in the process) which all relate to the abilities on their kits. People do take an interest and Kogmaw's current kit/lore have some irrelevancy. The "caustic enzymes" that he spews forth match his Q, but making constant references to his "hunger" when all he really does is turn people into acidic puddles by being the menacing machine gun voidling he is, doesn't really equate to consumption. Khazix kills and devours so he can evolve, Chogath feasts with his ult and gains additional stats/grows in size, in what way does Kogmaws insatiable hunger fit into his kit? It's either outdated lore that should be updated/elaborated on and I would appreciate a Rioter going further in-depth into what sort of direction they would like to take him.

Kog could get reworked as a Jungler pretty easily, but that would probably require giving him a new Passive to support it.

And one way or the other, Riot is getting rid of Kog's double attack speed. Which I'm fine with, really. Not looking forward to the Q attack speed coming back, though. Kog's Q needs a complete remake to help tie it into his kit as a useful skill rather than being a thing you ignore until you're forced to put points in it.

I agree with this 100% As it stands, there are three reactions from the revert announcement;

  1. People are upset and enjoyed his W steroid playstyle.
  2. People are happy that it's gone.
  3. People are happy that it's gone but Kogmaw won't be reverted to AP Kogmaw due to his ult still being an executable, which makes them sad.

Kogmaw just seems like he's in a position where he needs some direct attention. VGU would probably be the way to go as he has some outdated splashes as well.
There needs to be compromise here, you cannot remove a feature people have been using for 9 months and have enjoyed without replacing it with something people can also find enjoyable as well, that's how you cripple a character and alienate their player base.

Baaaaasically.

The problem with what Riot is (currently) planning on doing with Kog is that they're removing the niche they created for him (super machine gun nest) without really restoring what he was previously (artillery monster). Or at least that's the impression I'm getting from what they've said thus far. I'll probably make a heap of Kog remake suggestions, not that that's particularly out of the norm for me.
