Showerthought: If Riot released news about live in game moderation
Then regardless whether they follow through or not with the announcement, a lot of players will be wary and hold back on toxicity.
Then regardless whether they follow through or not with the announcement, a lot of players will be wary and hold back on toxicity.
To add, with a portion of the playerbase hold back their trolling, less reports will swamp the current Riot player behaviour team, so chances of toxic players being banned are even faster.
Example we have 20 toxic players. With news of moderation, 10 toxic players refrain from being toxic. Now Riot only has to deal with 10 reports, so the people who report them gets their report feedback faster, creating a positive feedback loop.
Could be like what CS Go does to catch cheaters. Players spectate and judge the behavior. Have players moderate after making an account with Riot, then if a moderator deems something bannable Riot can take a look at it, but if the moderator sends the team on wild goose chases then ban that account permanently and keep them from moderating again.
This method would let Riot employees do what they need to. Watching toxicity is probably not high on their priority list, so keeping the first step out of their hands would speed up the process. Additionally, making an announcement about this if it came out would make toxic people either shape up or ship out.
