@Riot and most of the LoL community

Just want to say thanks for all the great fun memories I've had in the 6 or so years I've played the game.

I won't lie, I WAS a serious LoL addict with a serious, serious problem. I would wake up, jump on League, come home from work, jump on League, every chance I got to play, I was playing League. It got so incredibly bad at one point (along with major financial stress at home, so it wasn't just my addiction, but it didn't help matters any) that my wife nearly divorced me about 5 years ago. It was that bad, it was an unbelievable addiction that I just couldn't shake. Everything worked out after our finances finally loosened up and it was mainly the finances that were putting a huge strain on our marriage. My social life was non-existent, I had become a hermit besides having to go work or mowing the lawn, I didn't do anything else. (I know, it's truly pathetic.)

Crackheads have crack and I had League. The addiction was THAT bad. Thankfully, because of this season, you have broken my addiction. The addiction wasn't so much the game, as it was the intense back and forth matches, the feeling of being able to carry and/or at least be a significant part of the team with any champion, TB being removed, Dominion removed, etc. Seems like almost every aspect of the game I had a serious addiction to suddenly disappeared this season.

The game used to be fun where I could pick and choose what champ and where I wanted, without any hassle or any drama or have to worry about getting perma raged at or flamed the entire game. Now, the drama starts before you even his the "join" button. Because you know there's gonna be 1 or 2 people who are pissed because they didn't get their primary role or their champ for the 5th time in a row.

I just wanted to play the game how I wanted to play it, but Riot wants me to play it like they want it played. Honestly, I'm not interested in buying a car from a dealership just so they can tell me how I'm going to drive it. Maybe that's not the right analogy, but it's how I feel towards the game in its current state.

But, I'm not going out mad or upset or anything, honestly. I had a lot of fun with LoL, lots of memories and loads of great times. I never got beyond Silver2 and never really pushed to do any better, I wanted to just have fun. It was never about getting Diamond or Plat or anything, because I was a Silver for life lol. I was ok with that, as long as I had fun doing it.

Riot's vision of the game and how I want to enjoy playing it are just too different to want to play anymore. The only reason I'm even posting this is to just sincerely say thanks to Riot and the community. I haven't played in over a month and honestly, I have no desire or will to attempt to even log on.
