Rift Herald?

As a top lane main, I appreciate Riot's effort to spice things up a little , and make things feel like less of an island up there, but I dont think Herald is getting the job done.

I dont see it given any priority at any point in the game, for some good reasons.

If you're going even with your opponent, it _might_give you an edge against them, or it might just totally throw your lane.

Herald chunks insanely hard, it requires at least 2 people to take down, and if you get caught out trying to fight that thing, you will probably give up a double. It isnt the same as contesting a dragon, you're risking totally losing your lane for a temporary buff. With top lane generally being the most snowbally, taking that risk just isnt worth it.

If you're already stomping your lane, and can push at leasure, then it might be more appealing.., but not much more. Generally if you're in control of top, junglers will want to put pressure elsewhere, and you 'want' them to put pressure elsewhere so you dont get 4 people jumping your d**k. Thing is, it's harder for the jungle to apply pressure after Herald halves their HP and forces them to sustain back up, or recall. Again, why go for a risky play when you're ahead? It doesnt give a permanent buff like dragon, it's always a lower priority than towers, it's a small reward for what might be a large risk.

The most practical scenario might be going for it when you're behind, just to help reduce the pressure from the enemy top laner for a while. Still, the risk is high, and the reward relatively low.

I guess it's not hurting anyone, sitting there being ignored until it gets replaced by a big hentai monster, but it certainly isnt adding much flavor to top lane like it was intended to.

I'll snag the herald especially when going sated devourer, issue is it's a one person buff. So while that's nice, it's not game changing.
