Why do people suck against Blitz and or Thresh?

My lane partner got grabbed, died, came back to lane, got grabbed, died (rinse repeat) how is this even possible?

For this instance it might have just been someone sucking. In general, at lower levels of play, players seem better against other supports because A) their mistakes aren't capitalized on B) it's a matter of making few/infrequent mistakes, I.e. You can afford to make a mistake and recover from it fine.

Blitzcrank very much, and to a lesser extent thresh, both have abilities that allow easy capitalization on an opponents mistake. Fail to dodge a grab? Oh you're miraculously right in front of the adc now who can blow you up. In contrast, fail to dodge a Morgana q? Oh, your support just did something to lessen the damage, or the adc didn't react fast enough to get out much damage, or you're pretty close to your turret anyways so they couldn't capitalize as easily.

Point being, a player who dodges 90% of blitz grabs will be considered bad against blitz because he has a 10% chance of dying each time it's up. In contrast, someone who dodges 90% of braum slows, or Janna hurricanes, or Nami bubbles, etc... Probably isn't considered as bad against that champion (in some cases they'd even be considered good).

I get that the skill shots aren't really comparable, that's just my view. Messing up against blitz is a lot more costly, and at lower levels of play you mess up a lot and just typically don't get punished so badly for it (honestly I would bet blitz would have a solid success rate in bronze...).

Do you dodge every Ezreal Q? Most likely not. The same can happen with a Blitz or Thresh hook, especially if you concentrate on farming.

And once Blitz gets ahead he stands in your face and E Q's you.

I can dodge most of them, and I believe Ez q is faster. She also wasn't concentrating on farming, she was support. This BLitz also never ran first saving a pull for escaping victims. just pulled her everytime

Your lane partner sucks, for one.

I suggest standing behind the minions next time.

Blitz: His BS hitbox on the grab makes it impossible to dodge if you're within even 700 units of him. It's not really their fault, Blitz is just very difficult to counter beyond sticking behind minions. The best you can do is play it safe because even one grab means falling behind. At low ELO, it's really hit or miss because the Blitz doesn't know what they're doing or the ADC doesn't. Thresh: It's actually sort of easy to bait it out, but then people get cocky and think they can dodge it, getting caught because they weren't paying attention. A good Thresh player rarely misses because they know the right times to swing, which happen fairly often in lane. At low ELO, he's pretty sh*t, though because no one knows how to capitalize and he requires maximum reflexes from his ADC to be successful.

East Coast Ping is an issue.

That is all.

Besides the point is, if you get pulled, learn from it? I mean that's what people are really good for right? Adaptability?
