@GypsyLord/Meddle, or any PBE players. Is Gnar Feast/Famine or can he be useful even if he's behind?

His "forced transformation" looks scary as hell to play as, and I keep fearing a situation like this will happen more often than I want.

So if Gnar goes up against some cheesy top laner whatever they may be upon Gnar's release, and if he falls behind either due to champion match-up or jungler ganks.

Is he like HecarimHecarim who becomes completely worthless if he can not become fat with gold? Or is he a type of champion that finds a purpose even if he doesn't do so hot in lane?

Or is he like GragasGragas , who never really loses his lane as going up against a tough match-up just results in a safe long-ranged wave clear-y farm lane?

Well...in my own opinion so far, it varies a lot depending on match up and the gnar player.

He can range really well, harass and kite: better than a lot of champions already out. The trick is, once he hits 100 fury, he can't kite. So your options become cc, and run, or stand and fight.

I like building him more mobile than most (BotRK is still pretty good on him), that kind of thing.

However, he can be a viable tank (don't let little gnar fool you) as he has a few chances to do max health based damage, and gets some pretty good stats on shifting. A couple people build hydra (you dont get the passive as little gnar, but the stat line isn't bad) and when you transform it works as normal.

Yeah I'm iffy about Hydra or Runaan's Hurricane on him. They're pretty useless on him outside of those stat bonuses in certain points of his gameplay due to his forced transformations.

Wait...for Runaan's Hurricane...does it have any interaction with his Hyper % damage ability?

How does he do with something like item 3142? Can he pop it when he enrages to speed up and stick to people? Or Phage?

Yeah, kind of. I like Zypher a lot so far, you can speed into Mega Gnar, are more mobile as mini Gnar, and that + boots goes a long way to not beign kited. Probably should get some good damage though first XD

Not sure what you are asking here. I haven't built it yet (I can if you want :D) but here is some clarification, just if this is what you meant: His passive on his W (hyper) marks targets damaged by AA's or Abilities. When a unit reaches 3 marks, the ability pops, dealing damage and granting movement speed.

If you were to build Hurricane, I would assume each would be marked (and proc) separately.

Ahhhh....I thought it would work like Caitlyn's Headshot passive. In which case it'd be interesting if it worked with Hurricane.

Well, I don't know it doesn't, i just read over his E again.

Both items are actually pretty good on him. Hydra gives solid stats and his aoe-burst as megagnarl is massive, if u land a 3-4 man E into Ult u can deal massive aoe damage with hydra, as u easily land 3 AAs and trhe aktive during the cc, and megaknars ad-scalings are pretty huge. Hurricane works cause he scales well with AS and his W procs on 3 targets

He's a bit more situational if behind. His base damage in ranged is quite high thx to the massive %health procs on W, but he'S squishy and shortranged so still not great if behind. His tank form however, got massive cc and base stats, so it will be impactfull even if behind. The problem however, is surviving till ur rage is full if behind.
