Advice for fighting rumble?

I'm at Diamond Elo and I don't think I've ever beaten a rumble in lane before. Maybe outfarm and contribute more to objectives and team play, but beating him in lane feels impossible. He trades so well and he never has to stop spamming. He's got a speed up and a shield to escape trades and Q does so much damage constantly. Once he hits 6 you definitely can't fight him.

Usually I play Sion or Gnar top but sometimes Lissandra. Anyone got tips for fighting him in lane? I feel like I'm missing something.

I never play top so I'm not sure but I once saw a youtuber use maokai beat a rumbles ass so :p try that

Rumble is not that tanky and gets popped quickly, if you focus him (he has no escape), building MR is a must. Also he can't kill you without ult, if you all-in him fighting to death.

If the Rumble is aggresive and pushes forwards, an early gank can hurt Rumble. Rumble normally starts Harpoons so he doesn't have either his shield or Flamespitter. A gank pre 3 can be effective since he can't charge his heat or shield protect himself properly. However, don't get overconfident when he gets back, once he is 3 he turns into a major lane bully by flaming through minions and trading with his shield, which can allow him to come back.

Most of the Rumbles I fight start flamethrower now though. I think they usually go flames > shield > harpoons cause they get the level 2 harass combo. Maybe I'll just make a page with nothing but MR runes and hope for the best lol
