Is it bad to ask a Jungler to NEVER EVER EVER gank your lane?

Seriously, it seems they do more harm than good half the time...

Ehh, I only do it because, when I play top lane, I expect the Jungler to get the Dragon or get the actual carries fed. I can take care of myself just fine.

If you're a carry lane though, I don't see what's wrong with extra ganks. The only problem is if you don't coordinate well and one of you two rush ahead of the other.

it's fine... just don't do so rudely.

like if I'm top I might say, "hey don't worry about me I'm top a tank I'll be useful lategame even if behind" or like, "hey I appreciate the gank, but could you prioritize our carries?" or sometimes I can just tell that me and him don't have good synergy, we think differently, and so an all-in is more like a one-at-a-time accompanied with poor reingages xD so I go, "xD I don't think we have good coordination lol, just gank another lane I'll be fine I'll just hug turret or something"

but also think about what you can do to make a gank more likely to be effective. and think about the lane matchups also. without hard CC between you or your jungler, a gank against a zed or a leblanc is hard to pull off for example. taking note of when your opponent wards, and letting your jungler know can make a big difference. if they ward and your jungler ganks, he's probably wasting his time... so let him know in advance to make a play elsewhere for the next few minutes, or to take a different path.

me what I do, I just try to play safely, harass safely, not really go all-in unless I think it is a guaranteed kill. try to conserve mana, and cooldowns so that if the jungler comes when I'm not really needing it, I still have a full all-in available to help out. and if it comes to the point where I need a gank, or if I think that the opponent is vulnerable and a gank would be great, I ping for help.

I actually had a moment of pride today lol, I was mid lane with maokai because our yasuo asked to swap against zed, and I was in a position where I knew I was vulnerable for a tower dive, but being maokai I'd be able to like, force him to use everything, y'know? and I noticed wukong at raptors... just about to finish... I was like dude too perfect, so I pinged for help, twice, and he beelined towards zed and we all-in'd on him right as he was gonna all-in on me xD

If you are going to say it, say it nicely. Also, if you are going to ask a jungler to never ever gank your lane, don't be frustrated if you fall behind due to enemy ganks.

Personally as a jungler, if my top laner were to tell me that, I would focus more on counter jungling and ganking the other two lanes, and definitely enjoy farming that much more. I would also try to maintain more control over dragon. If your jungler doesn't know how to put pressure on other lanes/objectives, however, then you are potentially putting yourself and your team behind if you get ganked a lot.

So no, it isn't bad to ask that. It is bad if you do poorly as a result of his inaction in your lane and you blame him for it.

If you tell them politely not to, it should be fine, but if they actually come at a good time and give you a way to get ahead, no reason to turn it down. The only time you should probably suggest it is either you are so far ahead you won't need help or are so behind they'd just help you give your lane opponent a double kill.

I normally don't tell them not to gank, but if they pull off a gank while I'm low hugging my turret and incapable of helping resulting in them dying I'll tell them to focus on lanes he can secure a kill. I normally don't get ganks regardless

I just politely tell them "don't come top please." So nice when they come when you don't have mana and are about to back then try to gank anyway and then give your opponent double buffs since they didnt consider the fact that the enemy jungler might be somewhere nearby, or when they think they do damage but actually don't and think that we can 100-0 a full HP Olaf so they walk up for a completely unpinged gank with double buffs and only 30% HP...

It depends on the jungler. If they are experienced, they will likely only gank when it's a good time to do so. For example, my buddy and I were playing today and he was laning against a Zed. This Zed had a tendency to use his shadow for harass, which made him a lot more susceptible to ganks. So my buddy communicated that too me, and we crushed the Zed extremely hard. Another example is when my bot-lane was pushed a lot, but not really far behind. Of course I'm going to gank that. Or another game when their Nasus felt extremely confident overextending because I hadn't been ganking him. I got 3 successful ganks outta that, and got my top lane very far ahead.

why would it be bad? as long as you don't word it like "DON'T GO NEAR MY LANE YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT TRASH" or something dumb like that, there's no harm at all in asking for him to not gank

If your jungler has already been messing up - then go ahead and say no ganks. Don't go into the game assuming that your jungler is bad though, that would be a huge mistake. By saying "Don't gank my lane" you are denying your jungler a spot to put his team ahead.

If your junglers are constantly feeding while ganking for you - you might want to see if there are things YOU could be doing differently to make the ganks successful.

Bad? Depends on the situation. I know personally that as a Malz main I find ganks from jungler who lack cc rather annoying pre-6 much of the time. I mean I really can't do much to keep them from running and if you don't have some hard cc you won't be able to either, so please don't bother unless they are low on life.
