CONSPIRACY CONFIRMED: CertaintyT Hates Garen

Every champion he has worked on is a direct counter to Garen.

Darius - Punishes Garen hard in lane, DoT prevents him from sustaining Zyra - Tons of CC to keep Garen from getting close to the enemy in teamfights Thresh - Similar to Zyra Yasuo - Can farm easily against Garen, has a poke to prevent Garen from sustaining and scales/carries much harder. Shield and dashes prevent Garen from damaging him.

Now he's "reworking" Garen by making him slower while moving during his spin, nerfing his silence, removing spin crits, removing his tenacity, and reworking his armor/MR % increase.

These are objective facts, my friends. Connect one and two together and the truth is revealed. CertaintyT simply hates Garen. Garen

Nonono, certainlyt just doesn't play the game he's working on he just vomits ideas and hopes the balance team and some number tweaks will make the champs fine

The Silence was a rather small nerf and Garen already moved slower during his spin under most practical situations. The crit removal was a nerf to certain builds, but overall is a fairly small and expected change.

The W is going to need a lot of work, and while I do hope that work comes before the changes go live it's hardly evidence that Garen is hated.

1 second of silence is not small at max rank. The silence has always acted as a way of keeping Garen's opponent from escaping immediately upon being spin'd. With so many champions with dashes and flashes, it's a monumental nerf when he is unable to deal reliable damage especially now that his spin speed has been nerfed while approaching enemies. Without the tenacity built into his kit, he's going to be kited harder than ever.

Kiting is actually a very, very important part of what keeps Garen balanced. There's a reason these juggernauts are described as immobile, and it's because of the shear damage they can output. If you get inside their threat zone you will die if you can't kill them faster.

I'll freely admit many of these changes don't look great on paper, but in practice the only thing you should worry about is Garen's W. They want him to get free resistances so he can focus on a health based build, and their attempt has pretty much failed. Focusing on the amount of health they want Garen to be building makes him drop off insanely hard late game.

The Silence is not particularly noticable in comparison.

if they wanted to buff his very lategame, the only thing they should have done is keep garen exactly the way he is now, except for the change to his w passive.

instead they should remove the cap on the maximum armor/mr on the ability. this may sound crazy, but at a rate of .15 armor/mr per minion it means at 400 cs (which is a pretty crazy amount for any game) he would get 60 armor/mr out of it.

this would basically borrow power from his early game for his lategame, while keeping his build diversity (actually increasing it compared to now). he could still go offense and not lose out on the bonus on his w passive.

this would have been one of many possibilities for tweaks.

I could definitely go for something like that, though it still might not be enough to keep Garen from falling off due to low resistances.

It's at least better than the current W situation.

right now you need, both a 150 bonus armor and mr from runes/masteries and items to get 30 bonus resistances out of his w passive. this means you have to heavily itemize into defense to get the same amount out of it.

thats what anoyed me back when they changed the original stack mechanic to the % value. now theyre putting it back but pretty much remove his scaling with damage items : /

lategame it would be a pretty good buff. in exchange for becoming a stack mechanic like sions health, veigars ap, or nasus q. and all he needs in his current state is a buff for his very lategame.

honestly garren is so strong late game people like to say hes weak becase of his kiting but i dont consider someone you have to kite for 20 seconds weak

After reading Darius's ultimate change I was hoping for something like this for Garen.

"Upon successful execution, Demacian Justice blinds all targets nearby the detonation point for 2 seconds."
