Bard Ult delays or prevents an ult from happening?

Been so long ago I've seen this happened once but never really was sure if it prevented the ult or just canceled it.

Cast it on against a Darius who just ulted a teammate, I mean he was in mid air from the ult. Once the frozen from Bards ult is over, is it going to finish the ult right there the freeze happened?

I just wanted to know because think about if a Karthus ulted, and you ult karthus as he is channeling his ult. o.o

Karthus cannot move or deactivate after activating Requiem until channel ends or is interrupted, Bards ult doesn't apply any spell effect, it'll also be blocked by item 3102 or Morgana shield

Darius's ult is considered channeling until the damage hits his target
