Am I the only one who absolutely loves the revamped Dominion?

It's fun, it's fast, it's pretty fucking fantastic.

It's a heavy dollop of every combat imaginable (1v1's, skirmishes, teamfights, wombos, picks, etc...) with a touch of objective control on the side. You don't have to go through laning phase, you can just sink your teeth and claws into the enemy from the get-go.

The games are mercifully brief, so if you're losing it's harder for the enemy team to drag it out and force you to suffer. The comeback strategy is easier to access. And the layout of the Crystal Scar makes for some pretty fun interactions.

Granted, it doesnt have the same...artfulness that playing SR does. When you're playing SR, you have to think about wards, rotating, objective control over both towers and jungle monsters, etc...

Still, I'm having a blast. Thanks Riot for redoing Dominion, it's probably tied for my favourite game mode with Ascension.

The main difference between old and new is the removal of bot lane (and thus no 1v1 lane and no ganking) and the death timers being so short you can actually die in a teamfight and then come back and re-enter that same teamfight.

This gamemode is so fast I actually have trouble buying items quick enough to get back out into the action without standing in spawn like I'm afk for a few seconds. It's literally non-stop action; and that has it's pros and cons. For example, I think that porting back to base to heal and buy is slower than just dying.

Also, since death timers are so short, you will almost never take the point closest to the enemy. You kill an opponent, start to capture, and two more show up. And then the guy you killed in the first place shows up again. And now it's like a LoL zombie mode where the enemy team just won't stay dead long enough.

Top is the most contested and most important point, with the middle being a secondary objective that you get if you already have top or want to distract the enemy away from top, and the big minion capture points are 90% of the time a great way to have the enemy team collapse on and murder you for a free kill. Those slightly upgraded minions just aren't worth venturing that far into enemy territory for unless you're an escape artist like Shaco.

So games are won on "Who had the top point the longest". Old Dominion had the top point as important as well, but you could win games without it. Now, it's basically your only win condition.

It's not too bad, but it all comes down to being a King of the Hill match of whoever controls the top mid point the longest. Making the middle of the point and the shards on enemy sides being somewhat useless.

I just feel that it's hard to make a comeback. The game is pretty short so some people abuse early game monsters like panth and LB. The death timers are really short and the time it takes to capture a point takes too long without minions

Wait, so what specifically about the revamped Dominion do you like? The old Dominion had all the pros you listed, but also had some of the "artful" qualities you mentioned like rotations and more objective control.

I agree it's not that different from old Dominion, but it feels...I don't know, fresher?

It's more than I just really enjoy fighting with other champs. It helps that death timers feel non-existent.
