Trick for landing instant Maokai ults at medium range.
Primarily, the title. This trick enables landing hits at a fairly decent range instantly, rather than having to wait for a 3 second+ travel time to hit a target at that location.
What you do is cast the ult at about 100-120 degrees away from the target, and thanks to how far behind you and to the side of you your ult tendrils spawn, you can land near instant ults that can't really be reacted to. It's great for making a pick on a champion with virtually targetted CC that doesn't leave them able to drag you massively out of position via flash/mobility skills, and can be chained into your W and then Q to hold them down for about 2 seconds. It's fairly hard to get the exact aiming down in normal situations, but once you master it it's a neat new tool to add to your way to use your ult for those situations where an instant hit is just an absolute requirement.
