Leona Sona vs Braum Thresh and Bard
New champs with similar kits too older champs are by far out classing them, This doesn't only follow champions with blatant dating like Taric, but champs that "seem" okay like Leona and Sona. About which champs directly outclass others is pretty easy to see.
Sona vs Bard - Despite her "Auras" she is currently a pretty junk champ. Well having a strong poke is a flavour of sona she has 0 way to utilize said poke vs any carry that has return poke (Ezreal, Lucian, Jinx when she has a level of traps, Caitlyn, Graves ) Leaving her only Optimal vs Early game adcs (Kogmaw pre 6, Vayne, Ashe pre 6). So you pick Sona vs these adcs right? No you pick bard, and you can pick bard vs any ADC he has no down side.
Well Sona has a better heal, she lacks an early CC(Poking with E power chords seems like defeating the purpose of playing sona), her ult puts her in mortal danger, has very poor late game scaling on the AP or utility side of things. Where bard is safe no matter what he builds come team fight, can save, start, zone and pressure through magical journey and his ult. He even has lane presence when not in lane via his heal, and potential magical journey set-ups.
Leona vs Braum & Thresh - Leona hasn't age'd well. She is so all in - balls deep for a support in the day an age of snowball games she will have little effect on a game that isn't already going her way. Braum and Thresh on the other hand have disengage and strong engage, maybe not solar flare range, but the potency of Hook + Box and Braum's flash ult easily provide better CC over a bigger range for far longer.All Leona's CC is effected by tenacity, both Braum and Thresh have knock ups, and extremely unique abilities to boot ( Braum's Shield wall, and Thresh's lantern.
Well Leona may have a stronger roam potential at level 6 then then Braum, I'd argue weaker then Thresh. She is also the most grea dependant despite getting a free 60 ARM an MR. She lacks a way to get out of a fight, or stop people chasing. Where Braum's can just Q a chase, and leap to safety. Thresh can Flay, or Hook, or Box, an shield himself. I see this more as overloaded champs vs a very under developed champ. If Leona provided substantial burst in lou of her down falls say... Her passive stacked on champs so using all your abilities back to back like your going to do played into her theme. For now she is just very weak.
