Most of you millenials won't remember it, but feral flame was literally the best thing about the jungle and now it's gone.
It actually gave you a choice between farming the jungle and camping a lane. This is what we used to call "playstyle diversity".

Secondly, there was no diversity. Champs that built Feral Flare did not choose to "camp a lane or farm" they just farmed because it was infinitely better.
They would AFK farm until the item was stacked then leave jungle at 25 min and obliterate everything.

You could just counter it by having a more active jungler, counter-jungling, or just grouping up and ending the game before they got ramped up. It was not broken, you had to just play around it existing as an actual viable strategy.
yZfYArlene1 votesThat was the counterplay on Paper, but that did not actually work in game. Your lead didn't matter when yi or Udyr left jungle with a fully stacked Flare.
You also couldn't counter jungle them because the item, before it was even stacked, was amazing for dueling and a lot of the champs that took it were awesome duelists like Xin or Udyr. So that option was off the table.
The active jungler thing was just dumb because you would need a monster lead and if your lee sin didnt provide it for whatever reason, or couldn't you auto lost the game.
and yeah good joke on the grouping one, im Plat 2 RN and can still barely get my team to group and take objectives so this one gave me a good laugh.
There was like a 3 week period where every single Flare abuser had a 54% or better win rate and Udyr and Warwick were sitting at close to 60%
The item was clearly broken
