Why is Riot ok with this?

What is the counter play to it?

Its incredibly difficult to stop, but its also hard to do. The only time you would ever see something likes this in Pro-play, which means Ryze will either be banned, or the team facing him will have to prioritize his ultimate.

Which video?

Also counters are silence, snare, stun, knockup, death i believe.

EDIT: also if you knock him out of it, entirely also Camille ult.

The video on the front page of the client. It's about professional use of realm warp. None of what you're talking about would work because...well just go watch the vid and then come back and tell me what you think.

We'll see if it ends up being an azir/kalista situation where they're fine in normal play but oppressive in pro play, and then they get nerfed to bits so they're in theory fine in pro play (but probably never used) and trash in regular play.

Still, short of yet another ryze rework, what can riot do? Shorten the range on his ult? At what point is it short enough to not allow this sort of thing in principle, while also being long enough to actually be worth it? Moving minions between lanes was one of the advertised features of the ult even in the champ spotlight, so the range kind of needs to be able to close the gap between lanes.

I mean, there's a giant blue circle showing where he's going to be, and you can easily get away or aim all your AOE at that spot.

Never dive the entire team using ryze ult, ESPECIALLY if they are made with hard engagers like malphite.
