How to counter aggressive bot

Kallian··3 votes·1,004 views

Over the past few days, I've seen a huge spike in aggro bot with combos likeVarus Lux, Draven Thresh, so on and so forth. Since these are such aggro early game, I find it nigh impossible to deal with a combo like this with the jungler saying he can't gank bc too weak. I need help so I don't end up like 3/7/2 on my games... Thanks!

You can push the lane to get lvl 2 first, and this will allow you to force and early trade as they will still be lvl 1.

After that point it can vary a bit. If you have ezreal adc, then they may just be interested in buying cull and playing passive through the game. If you can coordinate this ahead of time, then I would go for ancient coin so you can still accumulate gold without forcing trades to earn gold from the frost queens build path. This generally works very well with Janna, as you can just peel off any fights the enemy may try to start. In this instance, you may even want to start q and send a full change down the wave at lvl 1 to get things pushing. From there just let your adc handle so you don't mess up their farming. Other supports can do the same thing by simply autoing each minion once. (lulu can start q and use that on the wave)

As for tank supports, again, push the wave early for that advantage. With a more agro based adc, such as Lucian/Draven, go for heavy early defense runes. Something like armor flat reds, hp flat seals, flat mr glyphs, and hp flat quints can work well. If you have an adc that may want to play a bit more defensive at least until lvl 6, such as kogma/ezreal/and sivir, you may want to take hp scaling seals as they are stronger at lvl 6 and beyond than flat hp seals.

Other than that it can be very mechanical. Such as just constantly thinking about your positioning and when you can be ganked. This is very important vs hook supports like thresh and blitz. If they throw a wild hook and it connects on either you or your adc, then it simply becomes knowing if you can win the matchup or not. Bard can be very fun to play because they beat the crap out of blitz, even after they get hooked.

"You can push the lane to get lvl 2 first, and this will allow you to force and early trade as they will still be lvl 1." That's the thing, it's almost impossible to get to level 2 before they do. For example, (I almost always playTwitch orSivir ) Sona will tend to start with her blue song. When she activates this, it takes a good amount my HP due to low magic res. Since I want to be even/better at DMG i start withitem 1055 and 1item 2009. with Sona blue song taking a chunk of health, i use my item 2009 immediately as to not get raped so early. Anytime I get in range of the ADC and/or the support, I get attacked, and as I said no jungler. So my supp and I try to aggro back to get me some CS, it backfires and we both end up dead, with the beginning of a snowball in bot lane.

Well if sona is capable of hitting you with her q right off the bat then your support needs to do something about it. If its a leona support for example, which can't exactly engage lvl 1, then she needs to be, as I have mentioned before, hitting the minions to push the wave so that she can force an engage. The damage she will take with the runes I already pointed out plus what gets healed from relic shield should be enough to equal out any damage sona does.

If its not a tank support, then the trade should go even with a support that knows anything. If sona walks up to q, then anyone should be able to spell+auto her. such as sona walking up to janna+twitch. Janna simply shields twitch and both of them auto sona once and she loses the trade. especially if Janna has an ancient coin because any damage she takes then will be nullified by the healing. If sona walks up to nami+sivir, Nami just bounces her w off sona first and it goes to the next lowest hp ally. If the enemy adc is agro at that time then the water bounces to them too.

Besides, if they are truly that agro where you can't position, it should mean that when they auto you your minions should begin hitting them. At which point they can't win a trade very easily.

Sivir is probably one of the easiest marksman to push to level 2 first. Unless you start your e, just auto the wave until dumb old sona walks up then just throw a q in her face and she gets chunked really damn hard.

On another note, twitch isn't exactly a lvl 1 duelist, and sivir is by far not one of the best compared to other marksman. If you are really having issues with this, then consider taking other marksman like cait.

If you have too little mr, then you can always take mr flats instead of per lvl. The healing from masteries+dorans+hp pots + anything you recieve from your support should be plenty to sustain.

Although I think the biggest issue you may be facing is partly because you don't have very good runes. That may be caused by just not having the ip but ; For adc a basic all round rune set would be:

  1. flat ad reds
  2. flat armor seals
  3. mr glyphs, scaling or flat will both do fine, but take 9 of what you choose.
  4. attack speed quints.

reds are ad for farming, seals/glyphs for your defense. Your quints can help tremendously with farming minions and dueling so it is better to take attack speed in most cases.

Pretty much this.

Also, Thresh has no counters and no bad match-ups (with the possible exception of Tahm Kench, who can just W a hooked ally to prevent Thresh from following up).

Now that I think about it, Tahm is actually a pretty good counter to aggressive bot lanes simply because of his W. Play passive, only go for safe farm, and out-scale them. His E isn't too bad for shrugging off poke from supports like Lux, Zyra, etc.

You have to play passive under tower, sorry but that's all that I know.

Also punish mistakes.
