is it just me or are all Lux Supports the same way?
they're salty, unhelpful, and dont even support? yikes

Do they have the ultimate skin? Then yes, they don't care about you, they just wanna play somewhere that they can see the skin and usually mid is hard to get. The rest, usually actually tries.
Ahem I have the skin, and I'm not like that. I care about my teammates as I'm a SUPPORT MAIN. I love the skin but I'm not like that. Don't bash all the Lux players like that.
N o t a l l m e n
has the flamer Lux icon
So what? I like the flame part of her skin, doesn't mean I'm a flamer.
I was like 95% kidding :( Also fire Lux's VO for warding is perfect for any supports
Sorry it's just hard to know your tone through text plus I'm a bit pissed since I just got demoted (after getting promoted like two days ago), and then lost another game due to a rage quitter.
And yeah I love Lux's VO for warding. Makes me smile lol
Tank Zed Support

LET'S FUCKING GO
Not true, The issue with lux support is most ADC's rage when you ult a kill that is behind their tower. so you then spend the next 20 minutes listening to them rage that you stole their kill. -.- after your adc already died, after tower diving, and failing.
I think you replied to the wrong guy, bud.
Hello fellow zed player :D
Hai :3
:3
Zed support OP. All in their ADC at lvl 6. Killz 4 dayz
It depends on the person.
If they know how to ACTUALLY play support, then sometimes they can be good. Lux bind into Lux ult and MF ult is deadly. Plus, if your team drafted all AD, then I'm going to pick my best AP champ to fill in, which may or may not be what you want but it what the team needs.
If they start Doran's Ring, take CS, and then build full AP while complaining about no vision, then yeah.
I think that's the best deciding indicator. Start
? You got a trash "support". Start
? PROBABLY going to be an actual support.
The funny thing?
does more damage on Lux support than a Dorans would.
Shhhhhh you'll ruin the secret.
umm i would certainly say most of them probably are. i havn't had any issue with them myself .. but when i GO lux support. i have gotten.
"wow, your the first lux support i have EVER gotten that was actually GOOD"...
so base on that adc's previous experiences.. i would assume your initial statement is mostly accurate.
but i mean for the love of god
is downright broken as F*ck on
. if u don't have that.. you're playing her wrong...
Op lux sup build for cheap

It might be OKAY on her but in no way is that item even close to broken on lux

W has an 10 second cooldown. with 45% cdr that is about 6 seconds
35% attack speed for entire team (other than you)
the buff from ardent censor is 6 seconds.. and the time it takes for the shield to return pretty much means as long as u team is grouped you can keep the buff on everyone nearly permanently when teamfighting or taking objectives
support lux
with
and

is op op. more people should try it... just remember to ward and its your job to set up kills and keep your adc alive with shields and heals....
Some feedback.
Build a
instead of
. AP supports need the item slots, and you don't have enough actives to warrant a Ruby Sightstone.
Get a
instead of
. Your shield isn't really strong enough to warrant building around it.
Keep the
, since that shit is just broken, but consider replacing it with
against heavy burst.
Swap
for
(or
if you are short on CDR). A mage with CC and burst using mobis CAN be terrifying, but not when the CC in question moves as slowly as lux Q.
Fill the empty item slot with
or
.
is fine, but not with the original build. You only want to buy that item if you already have a good chunk of AP, and the original build only had 90 AP besides the deathcap.
If you want to play an AP support who shields people constantly, play
(or if you want montage clips,
)
the mobi boots are for roaming around, i'd guess
and if he (or she) goes with the
10 cdr and
10 cdr and finally
there is no need for lucidity boots
Yes, but if they have to go
instead, they will be missing 10%.
You could build both (and I can't say truthfully that they don't go together), but then you lose out on an AP item (either deathcap or void staff), which massively reduces your damage.
to be honest with you, i'd pick locket over deathcap ik that she has less ap that way, but i feel like its worth it
Alright.
I mean, the Redemption+Locket combo is a bit crazy right now, so it's pretty much viable on anyone.
But if you aren't going to build AP, I don't really see much point in picking Lux over someone like Karma, who doesn't even have to sacrifice an optimal build to run Redemption Locket.
Can't understand the choice in Zhonya's as a support, if worst comes to worst it's smarter to sacrifice yourself for a more valuable team member.
Lux is one of the only champions who is capable of applying
's passive to her entire team with a basic ability.
It's an amazing sieging item if you're ahead + it's one of the only other sup items that give AP.
Lux is the only champion who is capable of applying
's passive to her entire team with a basic ability.
"That claim is truly, truly, truly... outrageous."
Hey I forgot about him! His beauty blinded me to his excellence. I will know not to let someone's physical appearance cloud my judgement.
On "Supports" like Lux, your main use is damage.
You are a mage sent bot.
The reason you get Hourglass instead of Ardent is twofold.
In teamfights you can apply Ardent Censer to your entire team with a good W when playing, not just two or three people. The AS and on-hit/Life Drain is useful with the recent buffs, it's horribly cheap, gives almost as much AP as Zhonyas + Mana Regen.
Not too mention At level 18 the item is worth almost twice as much as you bought it for. (Cost Analysis.)
That's a very weak argument as that could be said for any support, but I'm not going to take Hourglass on Sona, Janna, or even Brand or Vel'koz for that matter.
Sona can't do Sona things if she is dead.
The only support I could call it useful on is Morgana imo and that's because it's basically a core item due to her ult interaction.
I'll sometimes take it when playing Zyra, but that's a rare case as it can put off your powerspikes depending on when you buy it.
It's just far too expensive and niche an item if you're playing support and If you really want to bring damage botlane you're better off just simply building any other AP damage item, as Zhonya's only brings along 70, without any Pen.
I can't see the justification in buying Zhonyas for 600 more gold when it's really not as useful from a support perspective. Lux's base shield isn't that strong, but that doesn't mean abusing it's strengths isn't a smart idea.
I'm not saying that you CAN'T apply Ardent to your entire team.
I'm saying only one or two people will actually care about it.
You yourself gain no benefit. Your mid probably won't give a shit. Your top and jungle might gain some benefits, but a Nautilus or Sej hitting slightly faster doesn't make much difference. Your ADC is the only one who is pretty much guaranteed to make use of this.
Even then, the item falls off pretty damn hard later in the game, where the items stats make it horrible.
Hourglass is an item you buy if you need it. That's why I listed it as an alternative to Void Staff.
You wouldn't but it on Janna, simply because she doesn't need ANOTHER way to get someone off her ass, and as such a more supportive item is better on her.
On mage supports though? You need to get one thing into your head; you are NOT a support. You buy sight stone, don't get money, and have some utility, but that's about where the similarities end.
You are a squishy, immobile mage. Now if you are facing a team with someone who preys on that type of champion
you basically have no choice but to build an hourglass.
If you are against assassins or divers and they are focusing you, you would ABSOLUTELY pick up a Zhonyas on
(
maybe. If you are going AP Sona, sure).
,
. If you play your cards correctly, youll get some mad ap amps there with a low budget.
The problem with lux supports is that mostly try to buy the most expensive stuff on the game on the role with the lowest gold.
Brands, zyras, zelkoz, heck even malz can roll with low gold items. that is why they are good at botlane.
Nope lol I've met alot that actually helped me and I like working with them. Though I mainly play MF and she can work with any support really
Isn't that every AP support?
I'm talking about Brand, Zyra, Lux and Malz.
How many times have I had to build sightstone as top/mid now?

DO A PODCAST WITH ME.
I asked a RL friend today and he said he was too self-conscious.... and I was like "WTF? you're not going to be on a camera" and he was like "But it's embarrassing" ...... you people are crazy. By "You people" I mean everyone that I ask and rejects the idea of having a podcast.
DO A PODCAST WITH ME.
Irrelevant.
Every mage support is the same.

There are players with garbage attitude no matter what lane they are, especially when they got autofilled. I do not agree that every Lux support is like that, because I've seen pretty friendly players playing her. There might be some, maybe even a lot, however I have to warn you that this atitude of yours does not help you too. Imagine a situation with a friendly Lux-support player, who you would negate just for that stereotype. Just a friendly advice - do not trust these stereotypes too much. Not every Riven is a rage-quitter and not every Vayne is trying to 1v5. Here's a friendly Jinx to brighten up your day: [slayer-jinx-catface]
if i had a cup of bleach for every lux support i had that built morellos first over a real support item, well lets just say the stockage of bleach would run out.
Depends on what you mean by helpful and support. I ward, peel, sweep wards, try to get my bot laner fed or at the very least give him opportunity to cs. Of course it also depends on you mean Lux support mains or supports playing Lux. I would be the latter. She's fun to play but by no means am I so passionate to main her.
Either way your use of "all" would be inaccurate here. Hopefully you have better luck in the future with any on your team. :)
They spend an hour chasing kills in the jungle while the other team slowly split pushes your nexus down
lux support usually helps me, but a lot of the time when I go up against them they use q and then immediately follow up with their e cause they think their q will hit. They do this every single time they throw a q out wtf..and every once in a while they ult right after the E even if it completely misses.
Ahahah that 's because the only way of having time to do the complete combo (q-e-r-auto-E explosion -auto) is throwing out everything simultaneously.. So when you're sure you're going to hit you want to use your best rotations.. When you don't hit there is a problem:p
Unless you're one of those weird Lux players that builds
Never miss a combo again.
What's the point of building it? Slows are not cumulative so your E slows for the same amount... Q is a root anyway so having a slow on it is pointless. The only spell that applies it is the ulti but you should never use it as the first spell in a rotation so when you fire it enemies are rooted, which makes the slow pointless... Illumination applies it but later on in fights you would not be able to proc it constantly so it's a slot wasted imho
