As you're entirely at the mercy of your team. And no, I am not talking about "APC going bot pretending to be Support" like Brand - I am talking pure Support characters here...
Every ranked match feels like a gamble going into it. I can provide vision. I can provide some utlity. But when push comes to shove, I have to be carried by my team in the end...

khorney1 votesits hard to do this when countless cpountless games my adc gets a triple right off backs and buys boots and 3 pots.......... who does this. or my adc and mid i will give them like 8 kills each and i still lose .......get blamed becuase i picked malz or j4 or sej.... people go apc supp becuase they have a big impact due to the fact if the adc is trash then i can make up for it....

Chamuel853 votesIt's hard. You need carries that know what THEY'RE doing as well where as if you were a traditional carry only you really need to know at certain ELOs. I liken it to "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink."
Pandemic Punch2 votesThe only way to "CARRY" as a support IS to take APC's in the bot lane. Otherwise you have to learn how to help your teammates optimally carry YOU.
"Carry" has been used loosely for so long that I think players have forgotten what "carrying" actually means. To carry, you have to be able to pick up the slack of several teammates by being an independent force. Traditional supports only empower your teammates to allow them to carry you easier.

Dêcoy1 votesYou just don't. Every single ADC in solo q is boosted ape. I literally unistalled League 10min ago, after my so-called ADC didn't even allow me to use Targon's stacks to farm and kept denying me every single minion. I bought Sightstone at fn 14min mark. I got my first full item at 22min mark - and that was Eye of Equinox. I was playing Braum and I had to fight super minions under our nexus turrets (with mid and top inhib down) because my team was chasing enemy brand from our blue to theirs, dying in the process. Im just done with this bs game and people who doesn't bother to even use their brain - if they have any.

Basically pretty much played as aggressive when I could. The minute someone made a mistake I tried to punish as hard as I could. Ezreal Arcane Shift down, Ult and Zenith. Ashe a step too far forward, stun and Tibbers (used to do the Tibbers stun drop, but for some reason it felt like I wasn't getting the stun part off so I would start W then drop the bear)
I pretty much played as though I was the only one doing anything on my team, I warded, I swept and I checked that minimap like a hawk. I never tried to let any kill get away and pushed objectives when we could.

Imperial Pandaa1 votesI usually try to complete the comp my team needs. AD heavy? I'll go Zyra then most likely, maybe Bard. Need a tank? Alistar, Braum, Taric maybe Sion if they don't have a problem with it. Well balanced? Time to play Janna and be a shield ho.
IPinPC1 votesZilean "support" AP mage, currently I carried myself to Gold 4. Items - Spellthief's Edge (If opponents are Plat or above I go for Sightstone --> Eye of the Watchers) ROA, Morellonomicon, everything else is situational.
