Why is Zed considered hard?

I've heard so much about how Zed is a high skill cap champion over the years. Never really played him. Recently I had a bunch of IP saved up and I said "Hey, I'll buy Zed just to play in normals, that should be a fun, challenging diversion and it may help me improve my mechanical skill". I played one custom game, then went into normals.

Very first game I played against people, I would just press R, mash buttons, then delete the adc. Like every time. Any time the ADC tried to get near a fight: R->buttons->kill. Sure, I felt totally useless when my ult was down. But I carried that game by taking the adc 100-0 every fight, and it felt like it was free, I was not doing any work to get these kills.

Maybe Zed has a lot of potential in the hands of a great player, he has a high skill cap. But he also has a high skill floor, he's very impactful even in the hands of someone who sucks with him. You do not have to execute his combo perfectly in order to straight up murder squishy targets until every last one of them buys a QSS or Zhonyas.

Cause 90% of people who play him only hit R and do it when the enemy champion is at 100% health.

Assassins are said to be the highest skill cap role along with adc. There is a reason why there are tons of big plays we seen pro players using assassins that uses so much potential outplay along with adc. No one gets impressed seeing a mage and tank nor do they have any impressive outplay potential which result them as being easy to play

You meant to say he has a low skill floor

I don't think any champion in this game is hard, really, playing them well on the other hand is difficult.

Playing Zed with really good predictions, reactions and flawless mechanics is difficult, just like playing an ADC with flawless mechanics is difficult

Good Zed play, (like anything) involves calculations, acknowleding CDs, speed and shadow usage

Experienced ADCs will try to dodge E+Q and QSS the death mark which makes dueling late game ADCs very risky, a full build ADC can kill Zed really quickly with crits

This is the case with a lot of champions. Sure, Zed, LeBlanc, Lee Sin, can MAKE really flashy and mechanical plays but let's be honest, you don't need to. People told me LeBlanc was hard and I snowballed my second game with her. Q W R E. That's it. Sure there's variations and yes you can juke people ultra hard with distortion but.... you don't need to. It's too easy to walk up and blow people up with a ridiculously basic skill combo.

High skill cap means hard to master, not necessarily hard to learn. I don't know who said he had a high skill floor. He's medium skill floor at most.

hes not really hard any champ with a flashy kit has more potential to make bigger and flashier plays, its why lee sin has always been top tier.

Low skill floor, high skill ceiling. It's not really hard to know but master.

Pretty simple.
