Promo helper is one of those little features that does a lot more work than it may seem.
The most frustrating part of ranked for me was losing promos, because it felt like I had wasted so much of my time to make zero progress. With promo helper, losing promos is at least progress-toward-progress, which really feels so much better.
So from a low-elo player who is now enjoying ranked far more due to this one feature, thank you Rito.

The only thing that I hate about promo helper is that platinum+ players do not benefit from it. I am a Platinum player (that was my elo before the resets, I am yet to do the placements) and there are times that the same thing happens with me yet I don't have the benefit of having a promo helper to back me up.
Yeah - I understand wanting to make high elo tiers harder to get to, but it seems that Plat players having promo helper would be perfectly fine; just leave it out for Diamond and higher.
I don't think I've ever won a bo5 promos legitly or even remotely close to a legit manner. I've hit Gold 5 from Silver 1 promos twice, and each jump took 3 attempts with promo helper. and each time I don't think i've ever dropped below 50LP before getting straight back into promos.

yep this was a system Riot had to introduce to compensate for just how terrible the ladder / LP system really is.
