Would a Mimic champ ever work?

A champ who's R is used to target a champ and copy their Q W E ability for a short duration (like 4/8/12 sec) - would this ever be viable, or would it always be OP?

There is Spellthief Lux, and LeBlanc's ult, but not a true 'Mimic' ability.

Copying an ally's ability would be both OP and UP, depending on what abilities are copied. And it'd be more buggy than Release Azir.

Basically what this guy said, the point is that League of Legends is alot more instant'kill'ie compared to Dota 2, at least last time i played it so a champion like Rudrick or however you say his name can work, especially considering the fact his own 'copy' ultimate can basically copy any ability from any champion but it still requires his target to use the ability first and it has a few restrictions on it (which i don't feel like pulling up) which makes it not so omnipotent as copying a karthus ultimate and them proceed todo double karthus nukes to basically mass maul the enemy team every time the ultimates are 'available' (though technically Rudrick could copy Zeus's ultimate from Dota 2 to pull off a similar shenigan, especially when mixed with refresh orb less that got nerfed into oblivion since i was gone).

Never the less if Dota 2's Rubrick got brought into LoL he would likely break the game considering how ridiculous it would be with him able to pocket grab Bard Brand Illaoi Darius Gangplank Jinx Draven Ashe Ezreal Annie Ivern Jhin MissFortune Malphite Malzahar Syndra Shen Pantheon Poppy Amumu Galio Ekko Morgana TahmKench Soraka Karthus MonkeyKing Zac Ziggs Veigar Tryndamere Nocturne Lux Kayle Janna Hecarim Fizz Camille

Even if it was only with ultimates, every single one of those champions can pull some serious game changers because they either have some ridiculous blast damage, map snipes, CC blast a entire team or even some other team fight flipper, All for one can easily show how some of those ultimates can get absolutely busted and i pretty much only tried to list the ones that would get away with it because they usually don't require a lock on something like a passive or other ability gimmick to even work. Plus this is not even accounting for what kind of 'altered scaling' that said mimic champion would get since having him straight up copy the ultimate would be a bit screwy especially for the AD or tank required ones, but at the same time if they say got slapped with a AP scaling to swap it, some of them could be absolutely broken because of that.

And i do not really consider a skin and a 'self ability repeat ultimate' to be that much comparable to a mimic gimmick.

it could but it would make more people dislike this game

Although I do think it sounds like a fun idea that I would definitely endorse, it would probably be overpowered in some way or generally hated.

However, I think it would be cool if a champion had a mirror abillity. Like it can absorb a range skill, then you could reactivate it to bounce it back or something to that effect.

I posted a whole thing about an idea like this in concepts and creations. It's a dope idea and I'd love to see it happen
