Other than Irelia, top lane's in the best state it's been in years

As of right now, there's only one really dominant pick in top lane, (who's frequently banned out at the moment) and after that, there's a pretty wide variety of laners getting play, ranging from bruisers to tanks, to a couple of mages. There isn't really a class of champs that's dominating , which is quite impressive for such a snowbally lane. It's much better to the trinities of top-tier picks from seasons past, where you had to play one of the top 3 champs or put yourself at a huge disadvantage.
