Can someone explain to me how Renekton counters Yasuo?

Hi, I'm a Gold 3 scrub who plays a lot of Renekton. There's almost no champion I can't beat in lane, except for Yasuo. Every time I play the matchup, I get destroyed during the early levels, and there doesn't seem to be a way to out-trade him. If you try to farm, he just pokes you with Q. If you go aggressive, he just dashes all over you and ends up winning the trade. He also outscales you by lvl 6, meaning you can't just wait for the lane to be over.

What's the secret to winning the matchup? He's said to be Yasuo's biggest counter, but I don't see it. I don't care how bad this makes me sound, I really need help with this.

It also helps that Yasuo is like the worst top laner ever.

Nah dude, Yasuo top is pretty strong if you build it properly. He has a lot of dueling potential and the bruiser build is hard to beat. Unless you're Renekton, in which case: E+Empower W+Q+E away = Yasuo below 50%.

If you manage to kill Yasuo before your first back, rush Black Cleaver. If not, rush Sunfire Cape. The AoE takes away Yasuo's shield.

I'm not too familiar with renekton, but isn't it true that he has a triple dash, and a stun?

If so, I would suggest getting rid of most of your minions, so he can't do the dash dance, and then dash at him, and stun him, and kill him. I think your biggest advantage is that your dash doesn't depend on minions

ok, cool. Times between minion waves, or when yasu has used up all his dashes (once he dashes on a thing, he can't dash on the same thing for 6-8 seconds), run at him, stun him, and do your crocodile thing. It should work out fine
