Darius' ultimate feals like it should be interruptable

Been playing a lot of Jayce lately to learn matchups. Was facing a Darius, doing pretty well and preparing for him to start to win fights once he gets cleaver.

Long story short I lost an important fight because E'ing him away during his ult didn't interrupt it, making him dunk me from the opposite side of the minion wave.

I understand how Garen's ult is that way, he's calling down justice from the sky. But with how Darius' ult is made to be a close range dunk it doesn't make sense that invulnerability and invisibility are the only interruptions.

There should be a range that if he is cc'ed out of it the channel ends.

Edit: Thank you to those who pointed out that Darius ult is only an animation and no channel and cast animations can't be interrupted in general.

Your issue is that Darius' ultimate isn't a channel.

It just has a longer than normal cast animation (i.e. Lux's ultimate, Ezreal's ultimate).

Cast animations aren't interruptible by anything except the user's death.

Quick note: Darius and Garen's ults can actually be canceled by loss of vision on the target

Good to know then. I haven't played Darius, I thought the animation was also it's channel.

Stasis is an odd example. The main reason it cancels the ultimate is that the target is in stasis, not Darius being CCed.

The target using Zhonya's Hourglass or Lissandra ulting herself would do the same thing.

Honestly this is one of the only things that pissed me the fuck off about leagues gameplay

ive been gaming for over 10 years, Every game ive played made it so if you've stunned somebody while they're doing a skill, it completely stops their skill....

League has to be the only game to do this..

darius isnt even that good atm. making his ult a channel that is interuptable would make him so incredible bad. also you shouldnt get into hammer form vs a darius except you all inning him for a kill

I was all inning, and I wasn't saying to nerf Darius. If Riot for some reason did what I above mentioned Darius would need other buffs.

My point wasn't that I was upset for losing as Jayce, I used it as an example to talk about Darius.

If darius ultimate was interruptible by displacement abilities or people flashing far away mid-animation, then he'd be so fucked out of his mind as a tanky frontliner (aka he soaks up cc on the daily for his team) that he'll almost never get dunks off. It would actually kill him off as a champion.

Darius isn't even the strongest top laner out there in this gnar (jayce up and coming if the LCS means anything) rumble (although he does well against rumble but that's a different discussion) meta.
