@Riot - It's time to answer for Lux

Tell me where the counters are. There are 5 whole champs that get her below 50% win rate in lane. Her damage is insane. She's stupidly safe (of all champion/roles that are seen with any frequency, she's the 8th safest and has the 11th highest average largest killing spree, and has the 2nd lowest damage taken of any champ). They all build ludens so you can't ever catch one before either of her cc spells are back up. She can build mejais with impunity, and her ult's damage is insane. She was plenty strong before you needlessly buffed her, and she's starting to pick up play rate.

In the mean time, can you do something about soraka? Seriously, she's bullshit. No one likes playing against her because she cockblocks kills and cs alike.

Her pick rate was always this high. She's like the starter mage of starter mages.

And mages are rare nowadays. Most of them are just AP assassins labeled as mages.

it has definitely gone up since they buffed her. She was sitting around 7% and is now at 12%. That's a 71% increase in play rate, and this happened because people knew that she was already strong, and that literally anything buffing her would make her ridiculous.

No. She was always at 10% or more. When did u get this 7%? She's been hovering around 11% since a month ago. The buffs werent even out for a month. http://www.lolking.net/champions/lux#statistics

And in your OP you just stated she was 8th and 11th. Why is she the target of your QQ? Cause u just lost to one? Why not attack the 1st? Lmfao. Someone's mad they lost. Maybe you should practice playing assassins more. And her E is dodgable, contrary to noob's beliefs. Just run away from where its heading and stop fucking running straight backwards.

8th fewest deaths and 11th highest average killing spree. You really should look at the link I posted before you ask where I got any of my stats. She's the target of my QQ because she was above 50% when riot buffed her and people are acting like the outcome wasn't fucking obvious. She's sitting at just below 55% in mid right now. I was upset about this before she started getting in my games and being uncatchable for singed. I shouldn't even have to say how laughable that is.

On top of that, your lolking indicates that you main lux, so you're clearly biased and upset that someone is ratting out your freelo.

Check out the last time i played lux. I don't even play her anymore lmfao. Let me know when u find out what her win rate was before her buffs. Oh wait I can tell you. It was still in the low 50's.

it was 52%. I don't understand. Do you think that's low? Last I checked, 50% is average, but feel free to prove me wrong on 52% not being on the strong side to begin with..

Actually, Riot stated on a Vayne QQ thread that balanced champions hover around 53%. I'll go find the link. OK I found it.

  1. It is actually VERY ok to have a champ be strong when exectued well. The actual "win rate" for balanced champs when played by a skilled and experienced player of that champ should be something like 53% not 50%. The issue is when you see that "experienced win rate" rise up to like 58%, then you can reasonably suspect the champ is op. As an aside, the data you see on sites like OP.GG or LolKing is average so it's hard to extrapolate from that to know a champs real power.

  2. I don't actually have a ton of specific context on what the reasoning and strategy is for the GP changes is this time. Either way, I'll probably ask them what the goals are and I trust they have a solid rational explanation. Most likely these changes are meant to be a small love tap type nerf for GP, he's not incredibly dominant I agree.

You are taking it out of context, he said SKILLED and EXPERIENCED, not some scrub playing it for the 1st 5 games. Experienced Lux goes up to 55% and and it starts at 53% for inexperienced. So, even using your quote Lux is too strong because the inexperienced win rate starts off where they say the experienced win rate should be. Before any of these buffs and ping compensation Lux already had around 53% at that point anyways, so again using your argument Lux was already "balanced" and did not deserve multiple buffs.

Also, plenty of champions get nerfed even when they sit at a 50% win rate.

Is there any proof that most of the people who are playing lux have no experience? Her kit is simple. Snare and unleash your combo. You only need one game to be decent at her.

If she's really that op that people need to complain about her, why isn't she banned in even 1% of games? Because shes on the strong side of balanced, not op. You wanna know op? Juggernauts, Fiora, and Vayne. What makes Lux a bigger target than those?

Might as well go nerf Blitz Malphite then. They have similar pick and win rates. Since that's all you base it off of.

The link shows win rate based on how many games played.

The link shows win rate based on how many games played.

Playerbase Average Games Played 62.95 <<<<<< Says it all. Lux is 82nd on the list for average games played for each player. That's higher than 55% of the champions. That just shows that most people who play her, know what they're doing.

The win rate doesnt show individual players. There was 15k games played. How are we supposed to know if they were experienced or not?

And that site only shows Plat+ games. See how she does in lower elos. Her win rate decreases as the elo goes down.

For the first 5 games the average win rate starts at 53%, which you can see by clicking the link. It jumps to 55% 5~15.

Using the low elo is a terrible excuse, a lot of champions have worse performance in lower ranks, and even then, her average in lower elos was already roughly 50% anyways. So, again, buffs were not needed.

Of all the long range mages to complain about, why Lux?

I'm a mage hater but even I admit Lux's cooldowns are long enough to be significant.

hgjkdlsaf jeldvb1 votes

Because she has a shield, cc, and somehow doesn't have 325 base movespeed. Xerath is like lux, but with less cc, smaller aoe, no shield, and his ult is way easier to fuck up. Also, because her winrate indicates that she's an actual problem, unlike xerath.

That shield soaks most damage she'd take in most situations on the 1 chance a week you actually have to get next to her, assuming that you didn't get snared, slowed, or bursted trying to get to her.

LadyRenly1 votes

Xerath isn't Lux. Xerath has longer range and mana sustain.

warpenguin5551 votes

shes long range.just like Xerath, Ziggs, and Vel'koz, picking an assassin against her SHOULD do the trick. should is in caps because reasons XD

hgjkdlsaf jeldvb1 votes

Not when she gets a cumulative .7 AP shield to mitigate large chunks of damage. They do have to get into gapcloser range to deal with her. It's not like she's totally vulnerable if she just blows her e and q, unlike ziggs, xerath, and velcoz.

Ziggs has what could be considered a comparable amount of cc, but has much less long range burst than lux, and still lacks the defensive option if he's caught. He's dependent on consistently landing Qs to whittle down a target to finish with his ult.

Xerath's stun has reduced duration up close, unlike lux, and his slow isn't usable as a zone control. His ult is also far less consistent than lux ult. Again, this champ relies on poke to have any hope of killing.

Velcoz has a lot of damage and self peel, but he's royally fucked if you get to him. He also lacks the same sniping range, and his ult isn't usable up close.

Lux has, on top of two ccs which can self peel. If this wasn't safe enough, they both have extremely long range, and she has a shield that deals especially well with sustain damage dealers. She also has 330 base movespeed, which shouldn't be the case for a long range mage at all. Her Q's snare is a flat 2 seconds at all ranks, which is enough time for her to both get to a safe range and guarantee her combo will land, which will more than likely kill a target that is below 75%, especially if she opts moves in to secure one more passive proc. If it weren't for the fact that she can single handedly put a team out of commission, I'd say her safety is fine, but she can instagib squishies like any other mage.

At this point the game is fucked beyond fixing. Riot is destroying their own game. RIP League.
