The Aatrox gameplay update keeps getting pushed back?

Now that the Swain update is being released, I decided to take a look at the update list to see when Aatrox might get his changes.

I could have sworn that the last time I looked at the update schedule around the time of the Eve rework, Aatrox was the second one in line to get his rework done. Now that swain is releasing, Irelia has popped up above Aatrox in queue. Does this mean that the Aatrox gameplay update has been delayed until after Irelia gets reworked, or will he be getting worked on at the same time?

If I remember correctly, half way through season 7 was when he got his mini rework with the context that they were minor changes until his gameplay update. Been a long time coming, and its a more dire situation now that the runes rework seemed to have left him behind. I tried making Aatrox work in preseason and couldn't, and it seems Hashinshin has dropped Aatrox too.

It will happen after Irelia.

Give Riot time, It will be the biggest Rework they have ever done. Let them perfect it

They don't know what to do with him just yet. He was scheduled after Irelia, so he will likely be released some time after her - or perhaps, like Rengar's revert, alongside her.

Either way, he's likely going to be a completely new champion in terms of gameplay - which means for better or worse, they'll need the kind of time they spend on entirely new champions.
