Just something I think people need to be very aware of.
I hope Riot doesn't go about this by nerfing ludens, and instead targetting Ori's W base damage when they'll have to inevitably nerf her.

I mean, definitely some? But definitely not all.
With the changes to 
and 
a lot of mages are going to have too look into a lot of alternative styles as opposed to just "Rush Morello's and Haunting Guise" which works so well for so cheap.
It's pretty safe to assume that Poke Mages will rise into levels of 'ugh' with Luden's being a first buy.
But Battle mages are more then likely gonna lose out in this upcoming update.

As far as mages who synergize well with the item, Orianna, Syndra and Lux are three of the most potent in regards to how frequently and effectively they can utilize the item. But you probably already knew that tbh.
I singled out Orianna because people have already acknowledged how potent this change will be on Syndra and Lux, but Orianna was pushed to the way side.
Due to Orianna's generally low CD, Low mana cost spells used to relocate her orb (Q and E) Luden charges up much faster then it does for her then it does for other mages. Alongside this she's a rare exception in that it also has a very solid interaction with her kit by being able to be proc on her main damage ability. Other mages with low CD spells such as 
aren't able to make effective use of the item. Ludens becoming a first buy will make Orianna's laning phase into that of a hardcore lane bully AND a zoning mage.
Syndra possesses similar traits to Orianna in that she's able to charge ludens quickly and proc it effectively, but she is dragged down further then Orianna in regards to it, due to early mana costs and her orb stacking mechanic on her ultimate late game.
Everyone has acknowledged how the item will effect Lux, by giving her more wave management earlier (her main drawback in high elo) and how easy the item is too proc on her E. One interaction people often forget though is how Luden's interacts with her ultimate.

Starting next patch Ludens will be giving 500 mana, 10% CDR and 80 AP alongside it's current echo passive.
