A little love for Janna?

Recently I've been going back to the first support I ever played in League and it was kinda exciting getting to rediscover a champ. Played her several games now and felt something nagging me. Has she always been this under powered? I remember they changed her passive from global to more local, but she still feels weak. Her passive now seems really weird as the only times you can take advantage of it is leading a charge into and enemy team(not where you want to be as janna) and when your retreating giving your team the movement speed boost as they follow, but as a support I always like blocking shots for my adc to keep them safe.

So my question is for all you janna mains out there. Is it just me or is janna really weak? Doesn't that ulti cooldown time seem a little brutal for a squishy champ that has little else besides the shield to play in a fight? Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I would like a little more meaningful cc for a champ that can't be on the front lines and has fairly long cooldowns to boot. Thoughts?

No, actually, she's the strongest and most reliable support in the game right now.

Under... Powered...? She needs a nerf more than most champions out there right now, and thats really saying something.

Janna has pretty much always been OP. Her win-rates have been in the 55% rate since pretty much forever, making her arguably the strongest champion in the game over LoL's half-a-decade history, consistently having a ~55% win rate for pretty much that entire time.

Janna's also come out of Worlds with things like 80% win-rates, she's frequently a top-tier pick, and there's rarely been a point where Janna has been considered out of the meta. During those times, the meta was wrong.

Thoughts?

Regardless of where you look at the data, Janna is a really strong champ.

Might want to reconsider what Janna brings and how you can use her kit. Janna's kit is admittedly not the easiest thing to use.

Janna is a bit tricky to play without coordination But she has really powerful disengage and can keep a person alive very well. Some people call her overpowered actually.

Utility supports in general aren't the type of power you'd expect to play. Janna in particular is quite overpowered. I and others don't want her nerfed because she doesn't feel oppressive with it but a powerful enemy you shouldn't underestimate.

I'm more in the camp that Janna is blatantly overperforming right now and I'm not picking her as frequently as I am now because she's a traditional main of mine but because she is in my opinion inarguably the safest support pick blind against another bot lane as you could get right now. Let me try to edge a little constructive feedback in here.

I feel you're significantly undervaluing Janna's Q CC. It's a line knockup that cannot be body blocked. With proper leading you can cut off a huge swath off distance for multiple enemies to pursue through, even if you don't necessarily hit them.

Janna's R is an incredibly powerful instant disengage and I feel like you only need one pulled off in a semi optimal manner in the midst of a team fight to change the flow of the game.

She brings so much AOE CC to a team comp with her R and her tornado. Even if it's shorter than individual stronger CC that other champs may have, being able to reliably disable/ruin combos and windows of opportunity for many champions is huge. The slow from Janna's W may seem pretty minor as well, but it's just one more thing which makes it tough for champions to stick to a target and focus them down in a timely manner.

Janna has always been an incredible teamfight presence, but she also doesn't have much in the realm of weaknesses in lane at the moment. I think if I see Jannas fail in lane it's when they don't position themselves well and offer an additional target for the enemy to engage on when they can mostly force the enemy to focus on either themselves or their adc and defend that one area instead. Providing your ADC isn't being hit by every single attack, Janna can neutralize most poke champions as well as engage matchups.
