Blue and Red Sides Randomized???

I've noticed that on the champ select screen, it puts you on one side. However, when you get into the actual game, sometimes you are placed onto the opposite side. My friends have noticed this as well and I'm wondering if it's intended??? Are any of you noticing this as well??? For me, it is an annoyance when it shows as blue side and puts me on red side. The reason being is cause I play on locked screen and rarely get blue side for some weird reason
