Baron Calls

So for you idiots out there who think "well even though it's only 20 mins in and Baron will wreck us and the enemy team is ALL up and out of sight we can totally just take it cause we're ahead," F*CKING DON'T EVEN TRY!!!!

Just personally carried my whole team through the early game and secured us 3 dragons and 4 towers all on my pings and actions, I even managed to shut down the enemy jungler while also shutting mid and bot lane down, top went even cause I prefer getting drag control over helping out a top laner who is doing fine.

My team then tries to baron while the enemy team is ALL up THREE F*CKING TIMES! I pinged them off, said in chat no plz don't, I said they're all up too risky, I said just ward it and take our last win and the towers we got, ETC ETC ETC! But NOPE, don't listen to the jungler who just personally secured you all an easy win if you just don't act like complete and utter morons!

Basically all three times my teamates got wiped, twice started AFTER I had recalled so I had to run back in and managed to chase them off Baron the first time and the second time I even got a triple, the third time they started it without even pinging anything cause they just killed the 3/10 adc on the other team by Baron while I was pushing a tower in top lane with my mid laner, so they all got wiped again and me and my mid had to just leave so they got Baron that time.

So again to all you bronze morons (idc what rank you really are if you make a Baron call like this you deserve bronze) IF THE ENEMY TEAM IS ALL UP AND YOU HAVE NO VISION OF ANY OF THEM AND IT'S ONLY 20 FCKING MINS INTO THE GAME THEN DON'T FREAKIN TRY TO BARON!!!!!! You'd think basic sh*t like this would be common sense.... but like me YOU'D BE WRONG!

God this stupid silver climb every single season is so frustrating.... carrying against plats and diamonds was easier most the time, I can rely on my team to not be brain dead for a change, but these silvers, they're hopeless.....

Yes, it definitely sucked, and I have been in the same position of trying to carry a team that simply couldn't really play, but it was just one game. Hope to have better luck next time, even though sometimes I will end up carrying several games in a row against unbeatable odds due to them getting fed by others. Definitely frustrating, but sometimes I just have a great game that makes up for it.Remember, GL and HV.

Rule number one of baron

never take it when your winning unles its a free baron by free i mean either everyones aced and al lanes are pushed and you just got an inhab than be sure to ward all incoming ways to the baron so it cant get stolen and be sure barons isnt warded

Why ? because your already winning and taking baron will add nothing to that but putting up the risk of them rushing in killing al 5 of you and use that extra baron pushing power to stomp right to your inhabs

Exactly, but for some reason I have to repeat this kind of thing to my teams in near to every single match I ever play until I ONCE AGAIN get out of this elo.

I just wish more people knew this.... common sense isn't so common apparently :/

One more thing, I'm not even an exceptionally great league player, somewhat good, so I sometimes get all the more frustrated with the fact that I'M the new Carry, even if I'm not necessarily an Assassin or Marksman. Yet, I can't yell at my teammates, so I urge and stall to try to get them somewhat to par with the rest. I normally reserve Baron for more of a 35-40 minute thing, if I even remember it and need it. While Baron and Dragon are great and all, they don't win a game. I have found myself getting distracted on a game, and have to refocus myself to actually go for the towers and inhibitors. 3 inhibitors down and 5 champions coming towards you is way more intimidating than 5 champions with 3 Dragons and a Baron buff, at least in my opinion.

And doesn't the Baron buff just consist of some exp. health/mana regen. and buffed minions? I may be forgetting something, but I don't feel like Baron gives you any real advantage, just a little bit of an edge, you still have to be able to pull it together as a team.

Yeah, getting Dragons is mainly only so you can get that last 5th one, which IS a game changer if you can get it, far more powerful then the old Baron buff to be honest. But getting the others should just be something you do after you win fights, see a free opening, or have no other objectives to grab after winning fights/trades.

Also yes Baron buff is now an enhanced recall and buffed minions with a bit of gold, that's it! It's a tool you use to break into a base you can't get into easily, not something you need when you're already dominating, which is what people never seem to understand.

Well theres theres always a time for baron like when your team and theirs are even in whos winning. But if you, out of pure luck aced them and all your towers are down fck baron and push(True Story).

Today, my team had the perfect opportunity to get Baron so we could win one more team fight and secure victory.

Did they follow me? naw, only Kat did.

lol lets NOT follow the shot calls of the Tryndamere jungle with 20 kills and carrying the game...makes sense. #bronze logic.

Their team was down and everything. Free baron.

Yeah that's the other side of the coin, teams ignoring free Barons.

But honestly I'd MUCH rather have my team ignore a free Baron then try and force an unnecessary one that is the opposite of free. The fact of the matter is Baron isn't as important of an objective anymore, it's just a tool to push now, so making risky calls to try and take it is just setting yourself up for failure.

But yeah if you're all healthy, the enemy team is basically all dead or at least can't contest, you're all healthy enough, and there aren't any towers/inhibs or 5th dragons to take then YES immediately kill that thing! lol

Absolutely. In hindsight, I shouldn't have done the baron simply because the team didn't follow through, but I thought they would come if Kat and I started it.

NOPE lol

Vicarious1172 votes

Yeah I've made that same call before, just starting when the team is near and it's free to take while pinging it like a mad man in hopes they'll just come do it lol

Usually works, if it really is free, but once your team like recalls or gets a good distance away that's a great sign to back off of what would have been a free objective :P
