So what is going to be done about Quinn?

HandheldBrandon··12 votes·990 views

She is literally an ADC assassin top lane super bully with hyper mobility.

I can't be the only one who is sick of dealing with her?

That awkward moment when your basically describing the old Quinn.

HandheldBrandon1 votes

Old Quinn didn't have massive map mobility permanently and one of the strong Vision denial abilities in the game.

She still bullied top lanes, still worked as adc/assassin combo, still had huge mobility with ult, and still had a blind.

HandheldBrandon1 votes

She was a really poor Assassin (if we are going by what assassins currently are) and her ult had a pretty large cooldown so she couldn't use it that often not too mention she didn't have the kinda burst she has now along with again the overwhelmingly strong Vision denial.

Quinn actually had access to far more burst before her update and would do it from point-blank/melee range where you had little to no chance of dodging her abilities. Not to mention you couldn't stop her from swooping down onto you during a chase because she remained in her ultimate form regardless of whether you attacked her or not, and if you ever came close to escaping her during a fight, she could just pop her AoE execute and go on her merry way. Sure, she wasn't a quintessential assassin like Zed or Rengar because she lacked the means to escape once she went balls-deep into a fight and had no way of surviving a group counterattack with sustain (unless you bought a ton of lifesteal or something), but she still packed a lot of upfront damage and could delete squishies with ease.

No she didn't she relied far more heavily on auto attacks because of her ultimate making her completely melee ranged.

Old Quinn was held back by the fact that her blind and her need to be melee when ulting prevented her from stopping any CC so she could easily be locked down and then subsequently blown up. New Quinn now just jumps on you and then completely denies you vision of your immediate surrounding and proceeds to proc her passive 2-3 times giving her massive burst up front.

I'd say she's probably more reliant on auto attacks now than before due to the changes made to Harrier and the way it interacts with her Q. But yes, before her rework she was occasionally required to auto attack her targets in order to finish them off (unsurprisingly, she's an AD carry). That doesn't take away the fact she had a lot of burst when even or ahead of her opponent. It wasn't something you'd see in many games because Quinn was rarely played, but here's a video to show you what I mean:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4ACwy3Spfk

Her assassination of Azir at the beginning of the video was just R -> E -> Q -> Ignite -> AA -> R, which finished him off in ~1-2 seconds (the Ignite was overkill; he was already missing more than 3/4ths of his HP at that point). Meaning all she needed was one auto attack thrown into her combo to kill him. Try doing that with new Quinn and it'll probably be slower and trickier. You actually have to aim your blind now since you don't typically want to walk up to them and Q them in the face, and you're easily shot down out of your movement speed bonus if you get close, which makes it harder for you to catch up to your target.

I'm not saying the new Quinn lacks burst, because she doesn't, but it isn't as fast and easy to pull off as before, because she has to chain several Harrier marks (AAs) now to pull it off, which takes time--certainly more than 2 seconds, unless you're super fed.

I watched that Video.

Pretty much all of your damage came from you proccing your passive and getting your crit off at the same time. You crit Azir 3 times in a row. Not too mention he had zero armor, you were fed as balls, and he had less than 2k health and tried to 1v1 an ADC who managed to get past all of his major damage sources.

The main thing that kept you alive was the crits and lifesteal from Bloodthirster on those crits.

New Quinn doesn't even build any where near how much AD you had and still puts out the same damage as that while being far tankier and far more mobile. New Quinn could literally do what you just did but with far less risk to herself and still be tankier and put out almost as much damage.

Not too mention her passive scales far harder than it did before.

It wasn't my video, just a random one I found on the Internet.

People who played Quinn top would primarily build her with a lot of armor pen and kiteability. BotRK, Youmuu's, Maw if necessary. Unfortunately the person who made that video went full AD and crit, but that doesn't mean Quinn couldn't find success with other builds. I'll also remind you that before her rework, there weren't as many defensive options available, like Sterak's.

Anyway, the point I wanted to make was that Quinn had an easier time as an assassin before with much quicker and harder burst than she has now due to her current Harrier reliance, and I think that video succeeds in showing it. There are tons more on Youtube if you're curious.

Yeah, she's pretty awesome, isn't she?

I just wish that they would remove the ''blind'' on her Q, and put it back as it used to be.

And maybe reduce her E's range by a few units.

Quinn has always been like this. Her E is basically "Oh, did you just gapclose? How cute" and that blind will screw with melee champs trying to cs or be aggressive. If you like taking melee champs to top lane, you know that a Quinn is one of your nightmares. She's still rare enough that you probably don't want to blow a ban on her, but if she ever gets popular she'll be a top ban for sure.

ban?

We only get so many bans and i am not always the one who gets to choose.

If you're a top lane main you know who you're supposed to ban.

Quinn is absolutely at the top of the list currently. I usually ban Malphite too, but she's way too good because the ADC class as a whole is really overpowered right now. Her blind, hyper mobility, and vision are what make her easy to work with in top lane.

Other ADCs, besides graves, would get crushed early game, but she has that stupid blind.

They need to address top lane Quinn sooner or later, after all these years. Either make her a fair top laner or keep her bot lane.

Quinn adc? She not that good at bot.

*Compared to her God like status top lane.

She's good bot lane, in fact she maintains a 51% win rate in bot lane, for reference Ashe sits at around 50.1% and she's generally considered balanced right now.

Her top lane win rate is at 53.7%, and it's where she goes over half the time. So no, she's not bad bot, she's just extremely good top. Why would you take her bot?

HandheldBrandon1 votes

I am kind of an all arounder but i do best at adc.

That being said Quinn's assassination potential is up there with the best of them and that blind ensures you can't retaliate if she lands it.

I remember when Quinn was the laughingstock of the ADCs, when she first came out and people were all "Why bother picking her?"

HandheldBrandon1 votes

Of course she was she was by and far the worst of all the ADC's when she was released.

Then someone took her top and thats where she belonged because nothing could touch her.

We literally traded a super shitty ADC for one of the most oppressive top laners ever made.

I took her to and was constantly yelled at and treated like an idiot :(

Let her "win" the lane. Gank her. Quinn's vault really isn't much of an escape. Being totally fair though, and as someone who plays Quinn a lot, her passive definitely needs to be toned down.
