Seeing as how Mages are getting a update soon which ones in particular are getting looked at?

Just curious because the ADC changes were pretty neat and all was just wondering on how the Mages will be looked and classified as? With the ADC changes many of them achieve their identity now. KogMaw is now more of a machine gun marksman, Graves feels much more like the shotgun marksman arguably my favorite, and as for Corki he feels more like a magic marksman now. With all this talk of upcoming changes to Mages, I like to know what will their identity be. Here's a list of the Mages that I feel like could use some changes and can become more of their identity.

Xerath the Sniper Mage. He is pretty much the Mage version of Caitlyn and it would be neat too see his abilities more fleshed out and to be more unique . Ziggs the Siege Mage. Yes I know he and Xerath are very similar but the reason I chose Ziggs as the Siege Mage was mainly because its fits more of his theme since he uses bombs to destroy buildings it only makes sense because of this reason Cassiopeia the Poison Mage. Lets be honest her last rework didn't quite hit the mark and needs to be less carpal tunnel simulator with her E and more of a Poison Mage. Brand the Burn Mage. Not much I can say here seeing as how he synergies with the new masteries and the changes to AP items makes him feel more like a Burn Mage but could be better. Fiddlesticks the Jungle Mage. Honestly this guy needs the biggest one of them all. His kit is ancient and needs a GP level of a rework. Patch after Patch this year he has received changes that nerfed him many times. Removal of Magus, W range nerfed, His core Item Zhonyas and other AP items more expensive, reliant on denial of vision, horrible waveclear, fear changes and plus lots of counterplay too him that makes him to be of top priority of changes to come. Of all things to keep his identity is too keep his fear, drain, and Crowstorm. Vladimir the Sustain Mage. This guy is just in desperate need of one and has been said by Riot that he shouldn't have been released. He pretty much has infinite sustain with little to no counterplay to his Q which IMO should be a skillshot of just how annoying it is too lane against him. Annie the Starter Mage. Has the potential to be more then just her flash Tibbers Stun. Malzahar the Split Pushing Mage. Hard too say as too how he should be changed. I love Malzahar but sometimes I feel like he could be more of what he is. I like his kit a lot but something is telling me he is under Riots watch for changes to his kit. IMO he should still have his suppression because personally I feel like this is one of many things that make Malzahar who he is as this crazy prophet that fills your mind with crazy thoughts that and his malefic visions. IDK if he should keep a silence or not but personally seeing as we have very few spells that can do that I'm gonna say keep it. Swain the Tactical Mage. This guy can be more of a badass then he is now. He is called a Master Tactician for a reason and too me he can be more of it. Make that auto animation less painful please! This guy can really feel like a General on the battlefield but right now not so much. Lux the Zone Control Mage. IMO she feels to fit her identity for the most part but could be a lot more then what she is now. She is all about using light in her spells to help zone off your enemies and to me one of the things that can really become more is her W. If I remember correctly before the game was released her W was supposed to give invisibility to herself and her allies that stepped in it. Now seeing as how stealth can be a issue why not make it to where keep anyone caught in the W a bried moment of invisibility like a few seconds say 2 or 3. Zyra the Plant Mage. In a lot of ways she has been forgotten. She is no longer the terror that she was on release and could be changed a lot more. Most important thing to change about her is her passive. Arguably the worst in the game by far, takes too long to fire and is worthless to have when you're alive. IMO her kit should revolve around where she is and how her surroundings affect her plants. Say like in the jungle her plants could do more damage since the jungle is where plant life thrives whereas in the river they can be a little beefier since plants love water.

IMO these champions can have a lot more potential then what they are now since their current kits are holding them back from their true potential. What are your suggestions on what mages should be changed and why?

You forgot about Syndra and the passive changes we were promised to be done 4 patches ago.

they haven't said they will make a mage update yet. Riot said they MIGHT tackle immobile mages early next year but it's not 100% certain

Xerath and Ziggs have fairly clear identities in my eyes, and any changes should be aimed at these identities: Xerath : Sniper mage, basically a master of long-ranged poke. Ziggs : Waveclear god.

Lux is a problem because she has an insanely generic kit. She has one spell that really fits "zone control", and Azir and Ziggs outdo her there. It could be her thing, though. Zyra is in a similar situation, super generic mage kit.

As for the others? Fiddle needs large changes because he's just a mess. Brand needs to be different from the better-designed Vel'Koz. Vlad needs a complete rework. Cass needs her E and passive scraped, that's for sure.

I think Kassadin could use some kind of update. Since morde is now a bot lane "ADC", it gives Kass the chance to become the premiere melee mid champ. Just playing him in bots I noticed he has a hell of a time before lvl 6. Ryze could really just use a VU and maybe some minor changes to cement him as the Spam canon mage. Like KogMaw, but with abilities and CDR instead of AAs and attack speed. Azir needs help big time. half the unique and cool features he had (like CDR=attack speed and knock up on E) where deemed too OP so they were removed, which has made getting kills as him a hassle. I will admit I've had some fun with item 3115 and thunderlords decree.

Why would Vladimir's Q become a skillshot? So does it require aim to shoot a projectile that somehow takes blood from the person hit and then transfer it to you? Honestly, I love Vladimir. If he gets a rework, I will quit. Infinite sustain? Build a damn item 3123. Too tanky? Build a damn item 3036. His pool? Why does Fizz get his E then?

Vladimir is a work of art and he's in a good spot. He's not too strong, not too weak. Not too annoying, not too boring. I love every single thing about him (especially the blood puns) and if he is changed I will throw a total bitch fit and leave.

I agree with what you said. I definitely hope they do good on fleshing out each of the immobile champs strengths and weaknesses. Especially swain for me. I mean I main swain 24/7. (Sustwain op!) but like you said he definitely needs fine tuning! (And dragon master swain!) his auto attack is horrible! And I don't feel like a master strategist when I play him! I feel more like I'm just a giant demon bird set loose by a warlock post 6 not a general of Noxus. (Pre 6 just a wobbling crippled man trying to live to see 6) anyways don't get me wrong I love swain and he's still really strong in 1v1 fights or when the enemy doesn't bring ignite or grievous wounds (hello gold or lower Elo) but I definitely feel his fantasy of a master strategist of Noxus who relies on the help of his sidekick Beatrice was just missed just by a bit. So I'm really hoping they give him some love!

Honestly I'd say Malzahar's ult is the part of his kit that would be most likely to be worked on. It's not very fun for the enemy to be locked down, and it's not very fun for Malzwhen they group up and/or buy qss.

I say he's in a good spot, but I'd love to see some more voidling action in his kit.
