I don't think these changes are going to change much with the problems of current Sated Devourer and Guinsoos Rageblade.

What do you guys think? Is the double on-hit proc effect bad for game health? Is Riot going a little overboard with the %-health effects?

Kog'Maw jungle, anyone? These look amazing for him if he can get away with it.

TonyTonyMordecai1 votes

Some people did it before, but I think it's gonna be insane now, if anyone does attempt it.

GaleWinUnleashed1 votes

Extra % damage AND 1.5x as many on-hit procs. He's gonna eat people alive.

Unless that description for Rageblade means that it doesn't work for ranged champs? The wording seems redundant and/or unclear.

TonyTonyMordecai1 votes

Yeah, we're gonna have to wait for the PBE vids on that, but I'm hoping that since the on-hit damage doesn't scale, that it won't be as crazy as it is now.

GaleWinUnleashed1 votes

On the PBE now, but mage update comes first! Actually looking for bugs, unlike most of the PBE playerbase...

TonyTonyMordecai1 votes

Lol, I know what you mean.

I kinda wanna hit the PBE sometime today too to see how they changed the Tibbers interaction. Might pick up Annie again if I like them.

I kind of like the PBE to go and live test the changes, and give responses on what needs to be tuned down for live servers, that way Riot doesn't waste time just doing balance adjustments.

Meddler clarified, both melees and ranged get 1 stack at a time, that thing is leftover text

I think im gonna play more Aatrox again.

Rageblade into Gunblade is back.

HeofShadow1 votes

My thoughts exactly. I saw Devourer getting removed and cried real Aatrox blood tears. Now I don't even have to farm every single monster in my camp, herald, both Scuttlers, 1-2 dragons, 3 champ takedowns and half the enemy's jungle to get sated and powerspike at a reasonable time into the match. AND i can replace my jungle item for boots later into the match(my build had noshoes) Tanktrox ftw.

Kaiser Rienhard1 votes

If you don't mind losing lane because of the terrible build path and gold inefficiency, then sure, its back i guess.

Duke Anax1 votes

The buid path got AS now as well as the AD and AP, It's pretty great for Aatrox.

Also, it's not as rediculously gold efficient as the current one, but it is far from inefficient.

Guinsoo's is still going to be cancer-ish but it's other effects are removed, so at least it doesn't stack those up. I do agree we're seeing a bit too many %health damage items, but in this case with Bloodrazor's effect it's back AD, so champs relying on hybrid damage to pass defenses are taking a heavy hit. I'm also wondering about that 'melee attacks grant 1 stack' line. Does this mean ranged champions won't be able to use the item's stacking? If so, thank gods.

TonyTonyMordecai1 votes

You got a point. Just noticed that it said "bonus physical damage". That does help a little with itemizing against Melee ADCs.

I don't know what that line means either. It either means that they took out the melee double stack gain, or it means that Guinsoos wont use it's full stacks passive on ranged champs. We'll see when the PBE vids come out.

Nameless Voice2 votes

I mostly note that autoattack-based champions are getting another tool to help them shred beefy opponents, while mages still have no options to deal with health stacking other than the very situational (and fairly weak) Liandry's passive.

TonyTonyMordecai1 votes

Even Smite has a Mage item that deals bonus damage based on the target's max health every 15 seconds or so. Riot is behind the times.

9kPluzZ1 votes

Wait, so is sated gone??? It doesn't say anything about stacks. And holy shit that rageblade is gonna break kogmaw again.

TonyTonyMordecai1 votes

Yeah, replaced with new purple enchant, and the sated passive moved to full stack guinsoos

EDIT: I was thinking that too

Sakura Mirage1 votes

Nvm thank god they changed the cost for such an efficient item ATM.

TonyTonyMordecai1 votes

Just noticed they increased the cost of Guinsoos, thank you for pointing that out.

ßurst1 votes

Is rageblade passive now all on hit effects? or is it just its own?

TonyTonyMordecai1 votes

I believe it's all on-hit effects, much like how sated works.

item 3124 s on ADC will be a much bigger thing now. right now it's the highest winrate build on ADC's in Korea with item 3085 . I don't see a counter to item 3124 on ADCs late game.

TonyTonyMordecai1 votes

I'm not sure how the new guinsoos will affect balance, but I know that Kog will become a terror once he gets this item.

Twitch KogMaw and Tristana are the worst abusers of this build, i hope riot addresses this soon.

Considering how much more expensive it is to get the combo together, I think this pushes the power spike late enough to where it is less of an issue. Also, keep in mind that devourer's new passive is a bit weaker than guinsuu's old passive (with the exception of fighting tanks). The synergy is still there, it will still be really strong, but it is a step in the right direction from what it was before. Now we just have to see if it is still busted in game.

TonyTonyMordecai1 votes

Yeah, good point.

As I mentioned in another message, I noticed the price increase, so that might make Guinsoos a poor choice for an item rush.

Yeah, new passive is less overwhelming than old guinsoos, but we'll have to wait and see.

Lol so youre losing attack speed until you stack up to atleast 3, thats kinda tilting but that item is hella strong if you stack it though. BUT THAT DEV FUCKING NO -.-... thats still kinda broken if youre yi or anyone with true damage. Think about Dev+Guin ... Sigh really rough...

Stellafreyja1 votes

I know Kindred is going to like the new Bloodrazer...

LankPants1 votes

This is a huge Irelia/Jax buff since they can now build phantom hit from lane. That's really my only opinion on this, I really don't think it will do much else.

Irelia Bot1 votes

Don't be so sure about that. It is often a pain to get up to the 4 stacks in a team fight currently let alone the 6 this version needs.

-CHK- This is your captain speaking. We have a Kog'maw in-bound. Over -CHK-

Bloodrazor sounds like an amazing idea. Kinda like mine :P

Though they moved Sated to Guinsoo's, making it even more problematic.

Kaiser Rienhard1 votes

Its literally 3600 gold and all of the atks speed in the recipe is gone when you complete it. No one not named Kog'maw is going to buy it because its shit.

FantasySniper1 votes

IDK, same thing happened with Banshee's Veil and its regen, but it was actually just an error. I'm assuming that's the case here.

Jungle Lux God1 votes

The problem with the current Sated Devourer is that it forced champions to powerfarm their jungle and being the least useful person on the map for 20 minutes and then turning into a god afterwards. It also skewed the balance on champions that used the item heavily to the point where its primary abusers had to get nerfed such that they can't live without it, the most prominent examples being Shyvanna, Xin Zhao, and Master Yi.

Bloodrazor is a much healthier alternative to Devourer in the jungle because it allows for more interaction between the jungler and the rest of the map. Your jungler no longer has an excuse for powerfarming the jungle outside of their ganks being completely awful, and allows for better balance among a lot of junglers.

That said, the idea of the phantom hit wasn't necessarily bad. It was a cool idea, but because it was ungated once you got Sated Devourer left some severe balance problems, not to mention that some champions that would normally like the idea of having the phantom hit and couldn't jungle got alienated out of the item. Having the phantom hit be the reward for stacking Guinsoo's solves both problems in addition to solving the overall cost-efficiency problem that it had before.

TonyTonyMordecai1 votes

Good points, I agree with that.

blood razor + botrk + vayne / kindred.... oh god the HP shred is gonna be fucking RETARDED

xxxDogmanxxx1 votes

RIP Devourer Junglers. Inferior, more expensive jungle item, WAY more expensive Guinsoo's Rageblade, previous nerfs due to old Devourer-Rageblade that won't be reverted...
