Can we talk about Taric's Passive?

For those that don't know what Taric's passive is (while paraphrasing) "After using a spell Taric's next auto-attack gains 20% of his Armor and his Cooldowns are reduced by 2 seconds" which sounds amazing in theory, but doesn't really play to Taric's playstyle. See, Taric is a bursty point blank AoE damage champ, this passive however, wants him to weave auto-attacks in and out of his spells. It would be great, if Taric could "Dazzle, atuo-attack, Radiance, auto-attack, Shatter, auto-attack, Imbue, auto-attack" and get 80% of his armor in damage and a cumulative 20 seconds off his CD's (8 off dazzle, 6 off Radiance, 4 off Shatter, 2 off Imbue) But this never happens. In fact, Dazzle, auto-attack, Radiance/Shatter, barely happens before the enemy starts getting away. Like, I just feel this passive is out of place on a champion like Taric and would be better off on another champion, one who can take the time to weave auto-attacks in-between their spells (like Riven does).

If slows alone were strong enough to make this happen Frozen Mallet would be far more popular.

Thank you. MY EYES HAVE BEEN OPENED! Excuse me as I just start the game with a 3000 gold item. I mean, the solution is so simple? And I'm so sure that everyone will just sit in the field and not use their many dashes and jumps. No Quickdraw from Graves or Tumble from Vayne or god-forbid Kalista.

He's right, iceborn gauntlet is really all you need. Taric really isn't an engage champ, he's a peeling champ. His passive is perfect for keeping enemy divers off your carry. Late game when you have MS from boots, quints, drag3 and 40% cdr is when you can catch people, even Kalista.

I mean, I always use the passive as support to help proc relic shield while I wait for a good opportunity to engage. And if you're fast enough, early game trades can get you the 2nd auto after shatter, effectively a full early trade rotation.

And late game, fights drag out long enough to the point where you can weave your auto-attacks in-between your spellcasts with some quick reflexes.
