Camille Nerfs (-0.02AS) and better ways

Surr@20 revealed this today: Camille Attack speed lowered from .644 to .624

A nerf intended at hitting her jungle performance moreso than her lane by hurting her clear, whilst giving her a little love-tap in top lane.

Now, people are understating the value of this nerf.

An AS nerf essentially slows down her combo in any situation where she's getting to AA beyond her Q since you always use the Q to reset the AA. You do not have to delay attacking in order to get the empowered Q. That aside, the AS nerf makes her lose almost as many AAs as any other champion would from the same nerf when clearing jungle, them just being a lower % of the AAs used.

That said, this nerf is still very much a love tap and I have some other solutions:

  • Reduce the range at which Camille gets empowered E2 Camille gets empowered E2 at any range where she can E-Flash if her opponent is standing still. This is noticibly longer than when you get the indicator for getting empowered E2. By reducing the range at which she gets the empowered E2, you nerf the range of EE-Flash, which is low counter-play and feels bad to play against, whilst forcing her to rely more on E-Flash-E, which allows people to try to dodge her E and is significantly less reliable. It also effectively reduces the range of her E without flash in situations where her target is running away, and makes running away from the wall more effective counterplay.

  • Nerf W damage to monsters Obvious way to hurt her clear if her jungle is too strong

  • Make her E only affect champions Camille doesn't use E to wave clear in lane, but she absolutely uses it in the jungle. She's reliant on the stun to kill crab quickly and it's the ability she maxes and her strongest form of AoE damage to clear camps with. Additionally, the AoE stun provides her with a surprising amount of trading potential in lane when trading with players who're standing on their minion wave by denying a significant amount of minion damage.

This is perhaps a change that would have to wait until the next patch since it's a mechanical change?

  • Nerf Q CD at early ranks Punish Camille for maxing E.

You could actually, probably, do all of these things. Camille has been in an incredibly good spot for a really long time, whilst staying just under the nerf hammer's radar. All of these changes hurt her ability to jungle and look at her issues, without hevaily nerfing things that aren't overbearing, such as her laning phase or dueling.

I like the E idea. I am a jungle Camille main and I could see how this would weaken her but not remove her from the jungle. And it would rarely touch top!
