Can Nidalee be tuned so that her jungling capabilities are nerfed but not her laning?

So there's no doubt Nidalee is a very dominant pick in soloqueue and a decent pick in competitive. I saw the nerfs on PBE which slightly nerf her damage on Javelin Toss. I'd rather have her as a midlaner than a jungler. She's picked in the jungle for a couple of reasons.

  • Her clear past level 3 is amazing. She can kite large monsters due to the root tied to her Hunt (this should stay, it's a nice mechanic and requires skill)
  • She has decent sustain through her heal which she spams on cooldown as she doesn't use much mana and Machete regens it anyway.
  • She's EXTREMELY mobile which makes her clear times even shorter. This helps massively with her ganking.
  • Her ganking is decent mainly due to gapclosers and high movespeed. 90% of your ganks have you approaching from a brush which ups your movespeed by 30% when moving towards a champion. If you hit your spear you also have a 700 (?) range pounce.

So my plea is: Can we please tone her JUNGLE strengths as opposed to all around ones. Maybe reduce damage on monsters on some ability by X percent? This is a very boring solution but that's just an example.

The reason I want that is because I loved playing midlane Nidalee and that thing is pretty much dead right now. It was pretty fun (still is but it's not as strong as putting her in the jungle to avoid a bad matchup)

I don't know. Discounting all the intricate analysis of wether Nidalee should be laner or jungler.

I rather like the sound of Nidalee being in the jungle. Just my two cents.

so throwing a spear at a jungle monster requires skill? how the hell do you miss on something that is programmed to just stand still?

He is referring to rooting a monster and safely poking it with ranged AA without it abandoning the fight and regenerating its health. If you're skilled (which I'm not), you can tank several camps taking almost no damage using only bushwack to root your monsters.

Personally I find it easier to just buy potions and heal, even if that runs you mana dry.

Nononono I was referring to the act of kiting AFTER you hit them and have them rooted. Not everybody does this.

She has one of the most bloated kits in the game, and you can't think of anything to trim?

-increase cooldown on spear -reduce spear range by 25% -cut heal scaling to 20% where it belongs -make heal ally-cast only or have attack speed bonus affect Nidalee only on ally cast -increase mana cost on spear to where she has to build a item 3070 to spam it every 4 seconds -delete cooldown reduction on kill -double the cooldown of R -double cooldown of pounce

Pick a few of those. See how easy?

Increasing CD on Spear is fine. I don't need to be throwing spears every six seconds.

Reducing spear range to 1000 units is fine (from 1500). My pounce is only good for 750 units anyways, and I don't need to be harassing people I can't even catch with max damage spears.

Heal scaling at 50% is fine. A 400AP Nid with max E will only heal for 400 health at the cost of 120 mana. The 12 second CD prevents it from being spammed. Messing with this only damages her ability to jungle and stay in lane.

The attack speed bonus that comes with her E is 7 seconds. If Nidalee decides to not upgrade her E and max her CDR, she could literally have a permanent AS bonus at the cost of 60 mana. This probably should be reduced to 4 seconds.

The increased CD on Spear is more than enough. No point increasing the mana cost too.

I can't find anything in her kit that says her skills are reset with a successful kill. She does have her R instantly reset if she marks a target with spear or bushwack, which would be weird to eliminate that since that is what Hunting is all about. The reset on Pounce for a successful leap on a marked target is probably not needed, since it already runs on a 5 second CD without CDR. Basically it's only there for escape if you failed to kill your target with Spear, Pounce, Swipe, Takedown. Taking the reset away makes it more all-in or nothing.

I agree that Mid lane Nidalee keeps getting affected negatively by nerfs to her Jungle, which is unfair imo because lane Nidalee is hardly a problem.

Tbh those are horrible nerfs besides mana cost on Q going up, especially the last ones (QoL nerfs to champions makes them clunky and is not a direction we should be taking imo)
