Why's Baron only worth 25 seconds of our time?

I don't get what's up with that. You play the laning phase well, which is like 10 to 15 minutes I guess. Your team does well, so well in fact you're ahead by 4k gold at 20 minutes. Even though one dude on your team is feeding, it's okay, cause everyone else is doing alright, and his deaths are evenly spread so no one enemy is super powerful. Flash forward a minute from 20, crappy situation, 2 people get caught, team decides to play safe, back, and clear waves. Boom. Baron gone. Okay, no big, we turtle. Except they run it down mid and force fights, and win each time. So, we lost.

Another example, losing game, down by 3k gold, botlane feeding, mid top jg are doing alright. Mid and top distract, creating big minion waves to push, botlane and jg sneak baron. Successfully take Baron, boom, now big Baron buffed creeps are taking towers while the enemy slowly clear them. So obviously, enemy team can turtle, or make a pick on a rotation then force a team fight. So they turtle, there's lots of minions so they can't really afford to look for picks. We run it down mid, they try to force a teamfight but we beat them, and then we win.

I get that Baron is supposed to be a game changing buff, and it's supposed to function as like hope for the losing enemy team. But let's face it. The rewards heavily outweigh the risks, because it's really not hard to take Baron. Any two teams that are going even with each other can clear wards around Baron about 20 seconds before it spawns, put their own wards up in top jg for sneaky picks, pressure top, then take Baron within 20-30 seconds. It may just be me, but it feels overwhelmingly powerful for how underwhelming Baron is to take.

I agree with you here. I played a game today where we were throwing midgame and we got an easy baron after one teamfight. Then we ran it down mid and won, just like that. It was so easy it felt like cheating.

Why do you expect there to be difficult PVE in a PVP game? Why?

I love everyone who is talking about Baron as if it's the new tower. "Oh, I can kill baron so quickly now."

Elder Dragon is the tanky objective. It takes fucking ages to do Elder. And Elder gives considerably more power than baron. So that's fair. Baron is for teams who are ahead to win the game. Elder is for teams who have a plan, who have meticulously collected every dragon and then get into an objective where they WILL have to fight the enemy team, because taking Elder can take up to 45 seconds for two or three people.

The objectives are different. The rewards are different.

Did you see the last game of CG vs 100 yesterday? The fought for more than 30 minutes arround baron. Always hesitating to actually do the baron. It was so tiring to watch, and now imagine baron was even harder to kill. They'd dance arround baron for an hour. Yes in soloqueue baron is too easy to kill, but if it was made harder what would competitve league look like. I prefer if they just nerfed baron buff again, and just getting baron would not almost instantly win games.

There needs to be a way where it doesn't make tanks (to tank) and marksmen (to DPS) so good at dealing with Baron. Either make Baron challenging but not impossible regardless of comp, or make it matter less.

Right now ADC+tank can 2v1 Baron and rush it down. And Baron is so good it makes these roles required (as opposed to three bruisers/juggernauts + mage + enchanter or something, it always have to be at least 1 tank and 1 ADC then other comp factors come in). You might be able to juggle the two bruisers around and have the mage wail on it but it'll never match up to ADC-tank plus it leaves less pressure around the map.

Something like "Baron deals progressively more damage as it attacks the same target + gains damage reduction vs each champion as they deal damage to Baron (decreased as other champions deal damage to Baron)". (Remove the half damage from whoever it's attacking debuff) Then you can go 2 tanks + 2 ADCs for the ultimate Baron killing team but you actually pay a price for it.

The buffs baron provide is to much.

The casual gamer is suffering and wanna know the reason? Shorter LCS games.
