Let's Talk About Taric

Hey guys! Before anything I have to mention this: I love Taric. He's easily my favorite champion and you could say I main him. He has a unique theme and strong skillset . I've long awaited a visual update but I have some concerns about his reworks. I just wanted to write down some stuff and get some feedback from you guys . Just to throw some ideas around, you know? Anyways, here is what Taric is (in my opinion).

Design and Theme: Taric is a wandering knight; protector of the weak and not afraid to get in a fight. He is familiar with geomancy/healing magic. He's also absolutely fabulous and incredibly stylish. In short, Taric is a paladin. His design needs to inspire a feeling of wellbeing, a feeling of "I'll be safe around this guy." It also needs to be fashionable and sleek, or in Taric's own words, "Functional, yet stylish." It can't be too bulky or jagged. He's not a "fighter", like say, Garen or Olaf , but a protector. His design should reflect this visually. And of course, he has to have long, flowing locks (even without wind), as well as a soft soothing voice.

Role: Taric is of course, a support champion (although I've experimented with Taric top a bit and I've gotten good results). He defends the weak (aka ADC-senpai). But what kind of support should he be? A big misconception is that Taric is an engage tank and should be played as an engage tank. This is not what Taric is at all. Taric should not be running into lane and immediately engaging/going aggressive. Does that mean he can't be aggressive or engage? Of course not! But a majority of the time he's there to defend and protect. Taric's counter engage is the best in the game. He punishes the opposing laners for engaging. It's crucial that Taric keeps this and doesn't become another Leona or Thresh. But to do this, he has to keep a few things:
- Reliability "Taric has a stun CC cancer", (but champions with 3000 blinks aren't cancer?) is what many of you like to say. However, it's crucial he keeps a reliable stun. He should under all circumstances not be Rengar'd or Ryze'd (don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about). He needs to reliably be able to protect without worrying.
- Auras (Armor Share and AD/AP Share) I'm looking at you, Riot. I know you hate "invisible power", or whatever, but this is an integral part of Taric. Sharing his armor and buffing his team needs to stay, without exception.
- Passive Interaction Taric's passive is in a pretty good spot right now. The extra damage is nice (it could be better), but what really stands out is the cooldown reduction. This allows Taric to "juggle" his abilities, and it has a really nice feel. He should keep this.
- Damage This sounds weird, but Taric needs to keep his damage. Hell, maybe even give him more damage. I'm greatly surprised when people say Taric is a no damage champion. when he has arguably the best burst damage as a support in the game. Of course, this is due to his passive and ult as well as his armor shred. Although supports generally shouldn't do too much damage, Taric should focus on punishing his enemies once they've already engaged. And how do you do this? By packing a whallop.

Anyways, tl;dr, Taric is a beautiful champion that has to keep his role as a protector (not engager) and be kept reliable. What do you guys think? Any other Taric fans? What would you make Taric's new skillset? Any feedback is welcome.

~#1 Taric Fan, hoping that the new Taric will someday be amazing
