Yes.
When one is marked as a support they usually don't do damage and provide more utility. When one is an assassin they tend to provide more damage and no utility/or little. (That said Ekko actually has a good amount of utility for an assassin, even if it is kind of a tiny bit unreliable.)
The damage on his ult is insane yes, and probably needs to be tuned down a bit but it kind of situational which is why it's so strong.
Your reasoning just seems a bit off though, not to act like an ass or anything.
