My first impression on "buffed" Aatrox

I just tryed to play Aatrox top against mundo. and here is what i have to say of it, if anybody is interested about Aatrox at all :D

First of all, my overall impression is that he is actually slightly nerfed not buffed, no offense Riot :)

here is why: first, by removing his bloodwheel he doasnt have early stability second, he depends even more on whether enemy decide to run from him or fight since his bloodrush starts to drop really fast , honestly , i felt like i can start to fight champions with him only with ulty, in which case he was dominant even eary and even after i died twice and had mediocre farm

third , now he is even more fragile when cc-ed since his blood on passive drops pretty fast when filled on max , so enemy can put him out of service even easier

good sides of "buff" as i see it: first ok , he doesn't lose his hp while filling his blood with W toogled on , which isnt much of an improovement since he have more unstable atack speed gain than he used to, since his blood wheel drops very fast if he doesnt fight ( on bloodrush)

second, he can recover more often , but yet he needs more luck to do so , because the enemy just needs to get away from him and wait when his blood rush ends(4 sec max)- and since his cooldowns are large on abilities he cant rly get back to it fast so this is a tiny inproovement on his sustain

finnal conclusion : hes more unstable, stronger(than before) late game, weaker(than before) early and if i add the fact that matches are shorter than before in general then this early to late game transfer in power seems like a missed bullet for riot team

so that is my first wiev on Aatrox rework, corect me if i made a wrong conclusion or something similar

i didnt rly have to try him in actual mid-late game since enemy were ultra fed on all lanes :)

P.S. i liked to play Aatrox as he was before, even though he wasnt among better picks atm

TO RIOT: good luck in further reworks on him , isn't an easy job i believe <3

EDIT1 : Btw Aatrox is one of the coolest champion that there are, none can deny it ;)

EDIT2: BTW Aatrox had a "feast or famine"(dominant or very low) problem Riot said.... Riven , Yasuo, Xin, Lee and other similar fighters have "feast and famine" problem(just dominant in both ways)....so the question comes naturaly by itself + Who are you kidding here by reworking Aatrox instead of giving him also the domination in famine (instead of trying to change his kit) ?+

yes jsut correct my every vocabular or gramatical mistake, thats very important for the topic.... or just go cry in the dark because of the stupid comment you have droped here

there are more suitable topics for you on Boards, something like memes and other mostly brainless entertainments ... ;)

I was not an avid "aatrox player" before, so I wanted to give him a shot as someone without any expectations and share my thoughts:

The most important thing to remember is RIOT never said this was even a "rework" per say, but rather they were making some temporary adjustments to hopefully make him more "balanceable" until he can get a full VGU. He just isnt high on the priority atm.

I think that they have succeeded in that respect, Aatrox has some areas now that can be tinkered with in the meantime:

  1. Bloodwell/Bloodrush: I think the out of combat drop off for filling his passive is just a shade too quick. Personally, I think it should just stack and stay, let him pick when he goes into blood rush in a more strategic fashion.

  2. They need to make his Q animation unstoppable, so that if he is cc'd it just takes place where the animation ends rather than stopping it completely.

These are my only main concerns atm

i know it isnt actual rework yet .

his targetability while Q-ing was the only thing what i originaly saw as problem on him ..and it would be of use if his aa would lower the cooldown of his q for one sec as yi and trinda have on one of their ability, im assured those two things would balance him with other fighters with similar mechanics

I think that previously, his revive mechanic was too reliable and his healing was too much below 50% health. That is, IF you got a lead on him.

If you didn't get an early lead, the health costs were crippling, since they were %HP building health was almost a bad thing (almost).

I think the levers in place are good for Aatrox overall, he just needs some tuning now, which should be easier to do than previously. I think he could be in a great spot with just the 2 things I mentioned above, and then maybe some number tweaks.

ok yes i agree ,it doas really seem so.... but now compare him to lets say, Yasuo.. what happens when yasuo doas get a lead? and what can happen very easily when yasuo doesn't have a lead? the same thing , yasuo can destroy enemy and carry from everything ..if we imagine both aatrox and yasuo players are good with the said champ.....so is it really needed to nerf aatrox's revive relliability when you compare such champs ? if aatrox could smash everyone(atleast) when he got the lead wouldnt we see aatrox much more often in competitive play? atleast at half rate as yasuo or other fighters? my point is: Aatrox maybe had reliable stats, but when you compare him to nowadays HYPER meta was he really that good or reliable in real life? not just meta fighters are hyper this days, every meta is hyper ,mobility creep or damage creep....just too much above all the other champs who cant be called meta atm..

i apologize if i have been agressive in this text, im a bit alcoholized :D happy new year

btw i kinda understand if they would just buff his recent mechanics he would just been op because of the kit he has, so they need to change him to be even succeptible to real future buffs .

yeah, I think they mentioned too that they didnt have enough time to do EVERYTHING they wanted this patch, but wanted to get the kit changes out to players right away anyway. Expect some buffs in the near future... hopefully next patch
