Can Janna Have Some Damage?

LIterally, every other support does damage. Brand, Sona, Taric, Lulu, Nami etc. Janna just tickles people. Her ratios are shit and her tornado you have to charge to see some noticeable damage but good luck hitting that. Sona does a lot of damage but Janna compared to her is nothing. Could her base damages or ratios be buffed a little to make her have some damage?

Brand support is basically a bot lane mage who's only use is damage, of course he's going to be dealing damage, he's not a "support" (inb4: HE HAS A STUN!).

Sona: Jack-of-all trades support, she has decent peel, escape, engage, CC, and healing but not great.

Taric: I can't really argue... Not smart enough

Nami and Lulu: both of them are very aggressive supports, probably some of the most aggressive (that aren't bot lane mages like Brand, Annie, Vel'koz, etc) along with Morg; they're very peel heavy.

And at the end of the day, true supports aren't supposed to be dealing the damage, they're supposed to be supporting the damage sources (Even Taric will be doing less damage than the carries). Janna already does a fine job of protecting without needing the poke damage. And if she does get some damage buffed, her utility will need to be toned down.

No. Janna is a peel-and-protect support. Giving her damage would dull her identity.

Also she's super strong and popular as a support right now, she doesn't need a buff.

What do you mean by dulling her identity? Isn't she supposed to be the Storm's Fury?

Players think of her as the queen of peel. If she is picked everyone knows that closing in on her adc is going to be a major pain in the butt as she slows you, knocks you up, shields from poke, and then if you manage to get through all that she'll just reset everyone's positions with ult while also healing up a bunch. But they also know that Janna doesn't contribute much damage to her team and is squishy herself, so they still see a path to victory if they can manage to catch her out or simply out-perform her team in damage so her peel enforcing a typical team fight doesn't actually help much.

If Janna were to receive more damage with no other changes, she would become stronger. To keep her balanced, that means something else on her kit would have to be nerfed. Cooldowns, mana costs, effect durations, pretty much anything that could be nerfed would be related to her ability to protect and support the squishies on her team. Then she wouldn't really have those powerful strengths or weaknesses.
