Why does Redemption deal damage?

Why does item 3107 deal damage? It shouldn't. A Support item shouldn't deal damage as it's active. The damage isn't little either. Just remove it. Maybe it would be balanced then, anyways they could use the PBE for testing it.

item 3107 is very strong right now just like item 3190. They both need to get nerfed.

It's main function isn't damage though. I feel like it's just slapped on there to try and make enemies stand away from the zone.

Neither of those items are really that op. The damage definitely isn't op. Who cares.

It deals damage to supplement the heal gain it offers to your teammates. If they removed the damage, the only way to compensate for the hp difference is to increase the health given. It's purpose is to redistribute HP in team fights. If you remove the damage and front load the HP gain, it would become fiercely overpowered since the HP gain is flat across all circumstances. By making it deal a marginal amount of damage, the item actually heals 'more' in a team fight scenario, and heal 'less' if used to just give HP outside of a combat circumstance.
