Kog's Ult 'buff' ended up being a nerf

To both AP and AD Kog.

Minor ding to AP Kog (weakened his full burst combo significantly, slightly better poke).

Major ding to AD Kog (plenty of things that would have been finished off escape now with a sliver of HP left).

This is why Kog's player-base keeps calling on Riot to dialog with us. Many of the changes to him since the rework (and then the revert) haven't really been thought through. The changes to the base damage (and then the added attack speed) on his W during the rework spring to mind right away.

I'm not mad about this. Kog has one of the lowest play rates in the game. Both Riot and most players are stuck on the idea that he has to be terrible early and mid with a monstrous late game whilst back in reality Kog having a very powerful mid-game his team can bank on is what made Juggermaw comps work in the first place. There are very, very few players who understand Kog and what makes Kog tick. And if someone doesn't understand what makes Kog work then how are they going to be able to change him in a meaningful way?

So.

Instead of doing your own thing with Kog? Please. Drop by one of these Kog topics and talk with us. Or even make one about him yourself, Riot. Let the long time Kog players give their input one what you have in mind. Listen to our ideas, we have plenty. And maybe, working together, we can make Kog'Maw great again.

The community hates Kog'Maw since the 5.0 attack speed thing. There's going to be a huge outcry if he ever becomes viable because people get triggered if they go against a fed Kog'Maw for lack of a better word

The hate didn't seem much beyond what you run into with any flavor of the month champion. Riot has already said they plan to work on him some more, probably in the patch after next. I'm just trying to encourage them to actually chat with Kog mains before striking off on their own and breaking Kog again.

I'm really irritated with how riot is handling kog'maw. I just stopped playing him now. I was really happy when the reverted his rework, i could have handled it. But the frikin nail in the coffin was the ult change. (the mana changes were nice, the execute changes were not)

The crazy part is that a fair number of Kog players told Riot that changing his Ult from crappy poke and a great execute into a crappy execute and sort of okay poke was going to be a neutral change at best. This isn't the first time players have told Riot that a Kog buff wasn't going to work out like they intended.
