Riot Games, let's talk about Critical Strike and how it's done better in SO MANY GAMES

There have been time and time again threads saying that Riot should remove Critical Strike, and the arguments to them are usually the following.

"Critical Strike adds RNG to the game to make it more fun" "Getting Critical Strikes is fun to do in the game" "Critical Strike is a controlled variable"

Now the second one isn't entirely wrong. Critical Striking is fun to do. Seeing the big numbers is fun in games. However, the first argument is pretty irrelevant nowadays since so many new mechanics and RNG Dragons are in, and being added to, the game. There is so many deciding factors and possibilities to outplay the enemy in the game now where you do not need critical strike to help decide who wins a fight. I wouldn't say it'd be the same when League first started out, but it sure has changed a lot.

Why Critical Strike is not healthy in it's current state

Let's start with an example. If I have 50% Critical Chance; in my mind that means every other Basic Attack will be a Critical Strike. Pretty simple concept, right? Except that's not how it works. Which would make 100% sense if it worked that way. Except, seems to me, it doesn't work that way. From what I can understand. Critical Strike works as if every Basic Attack is a coin flip if it Critical Strike or not. So that means you can get 5 Critical Strikes as long as you land on heads 5 times in a row. Which to me isn't a very controlled process. To let RNG affect massive damage output of rather you do a lot of damage, medium damage, or hardly any damage. That's not a good idea and is quite unfair to ADCs in general since everyone else's damage is not so random like theirs.

Also, let's point out the trend of pros leaning towards people who don't have to rely on RNG to do massive damage. The Ghostblade->BC Lucian, Blue Ezreal, and Ashe. Now, I'm not saying that people like Sivir or Jhin is not being played. However, I feel like there is a trend in how people are deciding to build certain Champions; where if they can avoid Critical Chance(especially early/mid game). They do it in a heartbeat.

Suggestion for Critical Strike/Chance

My suggestion is to make Critical Chance work on every champ like how it works on Ashe's passive, in a way. Instead of being a chance, it'll be a basic attack amplifier. Where it increases your basic attacks by a %. (On-hit abilities will not be increased). However, after getting a X% of the amplifier your Basic Attacks will be counted as Critical Strikes. Items and some Champions will have to changed to suit these changes.

This will Critical Strikes will be still in the game, but locked away where you can't instantly get them. You will still be able to have Critical Strike interactions too.

It's a more fair way to keep ADCs' damage consistent, it's removes the RNG, and you'll be able to build onto it from there. Possibly opening up a lot more doors to exploration with the game with the removal of Critical Strike. Since it's is probably holding things back from being presented/presentable to League of Legends.

No, that's not how it works. I'll give you fake numbers, but it's just so you can understand the principles.

If you have 50% Crit chance, your first attack has something like 40% chance to be a Crit, but if you don't Crit, the 2nd has 65% chance, the 3rd has 80%, etc. When you do get a Crit, it reverts back to 40%. So as I said, these are fake numbers, and the real numbers are calculated such that over a large number of attacks (say, 100), if you have 50% Crit chance, you'll get 50 Crit.

The system is done like that precisely to avoid the lucky streak you mentioned with 5 heads in a row.

Also, let's point out the trend of pros leaning towards people who don't have to rely on RNG to do massive damage.

Lucian and MF builds without Crit are not to avoid RNG, they are to have a bigger/earlier power-spike and to close the game before the Crit builds can take over. No one argues that Crit Builds are better in late game, and it's not because of the RNG issues. These new builds are just here to win the game faster.

Can confirm I run 2% crit on every JG in runes...and have gotten back to back crits in one gank as Lee because I cleared my whole JG and didn't crit once. Rare but it happens.
