The only reason I play LoL.

  • It isn't because I am addicted to this game.
  • It isn't because this game is rewarding (it isn't)
  • It isn't because there aren't better games out there (there are)
  • And it isn't because I like the playerbase (which is fucking shit).

I play LoL because as every moba, LoL is an investment. An investment where you spend countless hours learning every item, champion, various map mechanics, etc, to the point where playing the game becomes second nature.

Mobas aren't like first person shooters. No, it isn't rocket science to move from a moba such as LoL to something as competitive as Dota 2 but the investment one spends into learning beyond the basic mechanics of a moba is time spent which I don't feel like laying to waste.

If MOBAs were as easy to switch as were first person shooters, I'd let LoL kiss my ass goodbye for this game is better off dead.

thank you. you speak from the bottom of my heart.

which is also what i think is the only reason this game is still alive. just switching to another one takes still a ton of time

I mean, "it's investment" sounds a lot like "it's an addiction" to me...

Have you heard about the Sunken Cost Fallacy?

The only reason I play it is because there is no other competitive out there that I even remotly like.
