Was Support Only Made For Duo-Queue?

It sure seems like it.

I've tried many times now for the past 3 seasons to play support in ranked and climb the ladders, but I'm beginning to realize more and more that it's probably extremely hard and aggravating. Whether it's the ADC not having the same playstyle as you, having lower skill level than you and unable to capitalize on good engages, or just being placed into a crappy team where you probably are the last one to try and make a difference and carry when everyone else isn't carrying.

Just seems to me that Support was either made for normals, actual teams, or duo-queue. What are your opinions and thoughts on this?

I used to be a support main, but then I was screwed by crappy adcs and lost my patience. Now I'm an adc main, and it seems like I only get supports who don't want to support, but are looking for a short que time. So I'll gt those full ap lux supports that steal kills, don't build a sight stone, don't peel, and basically try to carry from the only role that's designed to help your team carry. Meanwhile the enemy team has the duo bot with an on point Alistar setting up fights and getting on me for free. It's a brutal grind man. Just gotta stick to it. Best of luck to you.

I've had some games where as a solo queue support I have done EXTREMELY well with my laner. Like this game for example. As Morgana I went 1/1/13 and pretty much, with an awesome (at least IMO) Graves (went 8/0/1), we shutdown the Sona (0/8/0) and Caitlyn (0/0/0). There was also this game as well. The Jinx was a little Fishbones crazy, BUT I had pretty much zoned Thresh and Lucian away from the creep wave as Soraka (HOW?! I'M STILL CONFUSED ON THIS!). Do I have some bad games? Yep they happen. Like this one. Yeah it went bad, though I still had fun chatting with the Twitch (we recognized each other as freguent boards commenters and just chatted ocassionally without assisting either team)... Also when an Ashe (or just about any Marksmen) asks you as support to poke the enemy laners I can KINDA understand when I'm playing a potential poke support... But when I'm playing Leona (Tank supports)?! I mean COME ON! Really?! Especially her!
