@Meddler A while ago you it was said there would be proposed changes to Azir.

Is that still being looked at? Will they be coming with the Mage update? I'm actually really worried. Azir is a high skillcap champion and if played right is the king of DPS Magic Damage. I'm worried about what will happen to him, he's always had such an interesting kit, lots of outplay potential and thankfully has never really been out of the meta. I'm worried that changes will hurt him badly because when it's come to Azir nearly every change to him has been nerf after nerf.

He's out of the meta right now. He's literately gone from pro play all together and even Cassiopeia is played more than him now.

Meddler said they'd be doing something with Azir early this year. Personally I'm hoping they put his knock up back on his E and try some changes aimed at shifting his power to late game. I was thinking maybe scaling his attack speed with levels in his ult, making his soldier range smaller at level 1 but increase its range with levels in w and reducing Qs damage and CD. Make Azir have to prioritise his safety to get to late game, rather than allowing him to be a lane bully with free/safe harrass.

Whatever they end up doing I hope they find a way to make his E feel good, it feels hollow when it hits a champ.

Azir has big balance issues. In fact he is just a better version of Heimerdinger since his soldiers are uncounterable.
