Since AD Morde is Not a Thing

Can Morde finally get the huge AD ratio on his Q taken away and have it redistributed? His attack speed scaling is also fairly over the top now. Since his compensation pass fell through and his rework is not even slotted anymore with plenty of champions ahead of him Mordekaiser could really use this. The new AP item pass could be one of the few buffs Morde has had in a long time after being beaten down over the years by new itemization.

A portion of this power is going to be wasted if his huge AD ratio is taking away from his overall power distribution. His attack speed scaling is also outdated. In the past it served two purposes. One was to smooth out his attack animation for his Q so it wasn't so clunky ( especially for a champion plagued with cast times). Secondly it was there to make use of the large AD boost ghost and hybrid items gave him. The first reason is sound but there seems to be a bit of overflow for a champion who should really stop at 1 attack a second for a smoother Mace of Spades. The second reason has been dead and buried for quite some time, even more so with the latest change to Morde's ultimate.

The 1.0 AD ratio on the AOE Q and 1.65 ratio on the Single TargeT Q should be taken away and Mordekaiser's AP ratios should be buffed accordingly. Lastly taking that attack speed scaling and rerouting some of it to his health growth or health regen would go a long way for a champion meant to fight in melee range for extended periods. It just makes sense at this point.

But but the item 3146 synergy !!!!!

it's an auto attack modifier, of course it has an AD ratio. That would be like saying "take away the AD portion of Jax's W empowered AA because the empower deals magic damage"

It's a BONUS AD ratio, it literally replaces your next AA with an ability, it's not just an AA modifier.

lvl 18 morde with no bonus AD or AP and a lvl 1 Q can actually deal LESS damage with his Q than his normal AA.

I know it's weird, but there's no reason to keep it that way, either make it scale off total AD or remove the bonus AD ratio.

A portion of this power is going to be wasted if his huge AD ratio is taking away from his overall power distribution.

Why would it be taking up his power budget? He doesn't build any AD. He's been balanced around the expectation that he won't be building any AD. He has the AP ratios he currently has on the assumption that he will not be making any use of the AD ratios. Removing his AD ratios wouldn't be an opening for buffing the AP ratios, because you wouldn't be removing any real-game power from his kit. If he doesn't ever use the AD ratios, it's not power he's actually benefiting from, so there is no reason why it would be taking up his power budget.

If you want his AP ratios buffed, that's fine, but it's completely and utterly unrelated to whatever his AD ratio is. He never builds AD, and he has no potential to build AD, so it doesn't factor into his balance. We could just as easily leave the AD ratio in place and just buff the AP ratios anyway (or find some other method of balance beyond just more damage). Whether we have that AD ratio or not, his balance state will be almost exactly the same.

So you want to nerf morde's Q by removing the totally absurd damage Gunblade gives it and call it a buff?

I really don't think that Riot or a majority of us want his ap ratios to be buffed... He will be unstoppable in the right situations and will become a very popular pick, forcing them to ban him for his no-counterplay pattern, especially in lane. Also, they intended for him to be an ap bruiser, so I can't see them pushing him more towards the mage category.

hey, don´t kill trinity/gunblade bruiser morde! he has enough power as it as as a ap-champ, it´s nice that you can actually add a little variety here and there. His problem is not that he lacks power, but that he´s very binary.

To be honest, the AD scaling would make sense if it was total AD instead of bonus AD. That way, it basically says that your base AD gets calculated into the attack.

Bonus AD ratio, on the other hand, does make little sense.

AD Mord was a fun gimmick when he gave AD to his Ghost and Vice-Versa.

They should seriously remove that ratio and buff him elsewhere. As it stands, it is just random Gunblade synergy.

they could always make his Mace into a floating version of Kayle's E

wait, then he would be everywhere...

lol, imagine him doing what kayle can...his shield would never be gone XD

really though, since his Q is already supposed to be the last ability you max, why not make it have some sort of interaction with his W, like where he can fire the shards at a targeted enemy?

I know riot hates targeted mechanics, but his q is really only there for early game

although, his base damages on his W, E, and R are all pretty high

he could probably function with gunblade, bloodthirster, icebourne gauntlet, zhonya's and item 3001 , but it would take a large chunk out of his shield and poke, so idk

I love how his Q affects his waveclear though, E Q combo can take out a wave even in early game and it really helps last hitting anything stubborn

lol, played against a riven today as morde (though lag killed the fun). she had to have her jungler with her at all times pretty much because "wtf? why can't I kill you!?" thoughts seemed to float around even though nothing was said; meanwhile a poke and full rotation with ignite leaves riven at 15% hp post 6

Morde can push riven under the tower...I think that stands to reason that he's in a fairly good spot XD

the "AD ratio" comes from the fact that it's a basic attack enhance. You can't remove it.

It's the same reason Poppy's Q has an AD ratio
