Renekton goes well against Yasuo o.o

AttackOnTeemos··2 votes·1,195 views

Right at that level 6 Mark, Renekton As a tank actually does well against him. I have tested this with multiple Yas games, all in all after that level 6-7 mark he can really keep up. I've baited a yasuo into ulting me and activated my ultimate the moment his connects with me and kill. Even with his slice and dice, I'm used it to literally slice through him and made him miss his final Q.

I just say more people should try it out, works for me anyway.

Renekton is not a tank. Renekton is a bruiser.

Last part of my message.... "damaging tank". Normally builds more defences than attack, but can go more attack than defences. Bruisers to me build more damage than defence, so he COULD be built a bruiser.... But hes more of an offencive tank in my mind.

Your trolling right now right....? Two words for you to see here. First is offencive. Second is tank.

Ralanr2 votes

Sigh

Look, being tanky is not all that makes a champion a tank. It helps greatly, but tanks usually have lots of utility on top of their durability making them a threat based on their CC and protection or lock down engage abilities.

Renekton has one stun (a potentially good stun) and has W bunch of mobility. He's also a damage threat considering how he's supposed to shut down his laner. In theory he can work as an "off tank" but he doesn't provide much utility over his stun and focuses mainly on hurting people.

Tanks by Riot are as follows: "Tanks excel in shrugging off incoming damage and focus on disrupting their enemies more than being significant damage threats themselves."

Though I will point out that not being a significant damage threat doesn't mean they don't hurt.

Renekton is more in line with dive fighters: "Divers are the more mobile portion of the Fighter class. Divers excel at singling out high-priority targets to blitz toward, immediately forcing those targets (and their teammates) to deal with the diver’s presence. Divers are not as durable as the tanks or juggernauts of the world, but Divers can take their fair share of punishment while bringing enough damage to be a real kill threat if left unchecked."

Tanky==Tank. This isn't an MMO.

Silly Neeko1 votes

While you do have a point, you also are missing the "not as durable as the tanks or juggernauts of the world", and in the sense of being in the game...... If you have the most defences on the team, you are generally the tank for that game. Im not discriminating and going through the however many different branches of each and every role, lane, or whatever. Im keeping it plain and simple. If you are the tankiest one on the team and you can start a fight by yourself and tank while your team is coming in...... You are the tank for the team that game.

Tanky is a build set, so yes ill agree with you there. But to keep it plain and simple, if you are the tankiest person on your team, your a tank for the team that game. You are to go in and soak damage for the adc and team, and cause as much chaos as you can.

Ralanr2 votes

"Tank" only in that circumstance and even then he's not going to as effective because roles are not defined by builds.

Silly Neeko1 votes

That circumstance is the only thing that matters when your in game. Feel free to continue trying to correct me when talking about in game playing, Renekton is normally going to be the "tank in that circumstance" unless you have a even heftier tank as support, or in very rare cases nowadays.... Jungle.

In game I actually don't care. I just get bothered when people complain about tanks doing too much damage and then listings juggernauts as examples.

If Renekton is the closest thing my team has to a tank, then I'll see him as my team's tank. Though I can't say I'd say the same for juggernauts like Mundo or Garen because of their lack of utility to help protect others or engage fights.

Yeah juggernauts are a whole different story lol, they are tanks that deal more damage the longer the fight goes on, 3 hits from mordekaiser for example, with higher and higher likelyhood of an enemy adc ghost or dragon the longer it goes.... Often times negating all damage via his passive.... Garen is just a jerk. He has a buff for armor reduce now so he does have a bit more utility for the team now..... Jinx just rockets with hurricane and blows up the enemy team even faster with him. Mundo isnt a juggernaut. Or atleast he was not in the juggernaut update, he seems more of a tank antitank o.O he doesnt have any real damage, hes just kinda there to annoy you and get in your face.

But yeah, there are different branches of the various roles, but "diver"..... Ive seen that said like once before this conversation here. Reason being that its such an off branch that you may as well just say tank or bruiser based on build in game lol

Nothing wrong with him being called what he is. A Diver.

Divers build a mix of damage and defense, but lean more on damage.

Think a juggernaut with less tankiness but more mobility.

That terminology can be worded like this without confusion: "Renekton is tanking for the team."

Note this doesn't incorrectly label him as a tank, as he still isn't. He is taking the role that a true tank would for the good of team comp.

So a more accurate statement is that he's "tanking" for the team.

Divers build more damage, except renekton builds like 2 damage items normally and the rest tank....

Juggernauts have less mobility, more tanky and can deal more damage the longer the fight lasts in close quarters. Mordekaiser is a juggernaut. He has a shield that is pretty hefty to make up for some loss in hp for his builds.

The terminology most used in that sense is "dont target the tank" not "dont target the one thats tanking for the enemy team"

"he is taking the role that a true tank would for the good of the team comp" thus, he is a tank that game.

The more accurate term is "he is tanking for the team." your right, and anyone can tank even without defence items.... Adc champions tank via lifesteal. Ive seen a few tank 2-3 people and still win just standing there. The only reason he would be tanking for the team is if the enemy targetted him or he bodyblocked all the shots that would have hit the team. So your comment would be inaccurate if they didnt shoot him at all until after everyone else is dead.

He is not a tank. He is a Diver.

its not even worth it. you can fk him up in lane but he just outscales you easily. and if yas goes bloodlust he wnt even have that muhc of a hard time against rene skillmatchup

MunchCrunchLunch2 votes

renekton will get outscaled once yasuo gets his third item.

PhantomGG1 votes

Just about any bruiser or juggernaut goes well into yasuo

JuggerNauts who shit on yasuo Darius -Has a passive that allows him to win every long term set of trading, and a q that will heal him in mid fight, once he has his R he becomes very hard to out play because he can now kill you the moment you enter 50 percent health range

DrMundo -Easier to deal with than let's say Darius, but has a ultimate that allows him to completely reset the fight, very hard to deal with if you do not yet have your bork or mortal reminder, for he simply negates all your damage

Garen -While no where near as hard as darius, Yasuo has to be careful with him, for once again once you are in the 40/50 percent health range, you are dead

Riven -Yasuo likes to get up close and personal, and so does riven, she has 2 different ways to cc you to stop your combos, a shield to block your combo, and yet another execution ultimate, that guarentees your death, however you are given more breathing room with riven, for you have the ability to out play her, unlike with the first champion mentioned

Jax -If he times his E perfectly, than you have no hope to beat him in a one v one, as his Blocks your autos and your Q which is roughly 70 percent of your damage.

Silly Neeko1 votes

Yeah rene is a pretty good counter to most melee top laners, the only person ive struggled with recently has been an ezreal..... And that was because he farmed well and i couldnt poke him down and he had too much mana for poking lol

Catastrop1 votes

It's not just tanks/fighters, anyone with some sort deny mechanic/mobility can do well against Yasuo tbh. When it was good, I always picked solo lane Lulu into him because there is nothing he can do as Windwall is pretty much always down when I need it to be.

NightmareAmazoX1 votes

People already know but will complain no matter what.

Shahamut1 votes

I can out-duel Yasuo at most stages of the game as Renekton or even Skarner. With a little bit of lockdown, he can be killed pretty easily. Tank Yasuo is super annoying though.

Hauling Ashe1 votes

Yeah, but it's Renekton, one of the most oppressive lane bullies in the entire game. You don't beat a Renekton, you only survive a Renekton.

Darth StepVader1 votes

Renekton is a great pick against Yasuo and you dominate the lane, untill Yasuo finishes item 3046 and item 3036 that is.

Maximum Morde1 votes

Rammus works well too. If you are powerballing, it will actually interrupt Yasuos ult if he tries to ult you while knocked up and still puts him on cd, right in range for Rammus to rekt his little weeb ass.

DunkinNoobs1 votes

Lots of champs do well against Yasuo. Renekton is one of the best; you can either rush Sunfire and shut him down while being unkillable or go damage and 1 shot the guy.
