Why is their damage so high while building defense? You can both be the same level and they will build nothing but defense you will build nothing but damage but you will deal no damage to them and they will delete you in like 6 hits.
Last i checked a tank was a tank cause its an unkillable wall not because its an unkillable wall that kills everything super fast.

If it takes 6 hits for a pure damage, no defense character to die, that’s a long time for 0 defenses. Depending on the champ, it might make sense that the tank doesn’t die. Tanks beat burst, but die to DPS. Build pure damage on an ADC, tank will melt. Build pure damage on a burst mage or assassin, that tank isn’t gonna die.
Tanks have higher base damages so they can properly farm and not be absolutely destroyed by anything that looks at them funny in the laning phase. Yet they don’t build damage, and a lot have poorer scalings to dissuade them from buying damage items.
